Specialization and Rank Confusion

I am really confused on this whole topic… I heard that the rank is 1-50. Then how do specializations work if there are 8? I am so confused. Please have a source for your information if you can!

Once you get to 50, you choose a specialization.

Rank up another 10 levels, choose another specialization.

Rinse and repeat ^.^

Fix’d…

Okay that makes sense… So how do the specializations work into that? Do I unlock something while going through 1-50, or only from specializations?

> Okay that makes sense… So how do the specializations work into that? Do I unlock something while going through 1-50, or only from specializations?

For each specialization, there are 10 unlocks for each rank along the way (at 51, 52, etc…).

These will be the armor sets, modifications, etc.

Enter rank 1. Progress through the 50 default ranks. Once those are complete, you get to choose one of 2 specializations (or 8 if you have the LE. The other 6 will be unlocked for standard edition owners in the future.) Each of those has 10 more ranks. Progress through the 10 ranks, unlocking armor/skins/armor mods/etc. as you go. Once you are done with those 10 ranks, select another specialization and go through the 10 more ranks associated with that specialization. Rinse and repeat. All in all, there are a total of 130 ranks in Halo 4.

No you don’t reset. Once you hit 50 you choose a specialization that extends your levels 10 further. The specialization will earn you certain armor, skins, emblems, and eventually a perk. Once you complete that specialization you’ll be able to choose another.

Get to 50, choose a specialization. Get to 60, choose another, get to 70, and keep doing until 130.

ShadoxIII is right, Im going with the one that gets you more xp first.

Okay this is making more sense… But by what you guys are saying, there is DEFINITELY unlocks through 1-50. I am willing to bet that 1-50 will get your weapons, AA, and the rest of the armor that the specializations don’t offer. Just to be clear, this is how I understand it. Is it correct? You go through 1-50. Once at 50, you pick a specialization, going through 10 more ranks, bringing you to 60. Then you choose another and so on. Is this correct?

Yup, that’s pretty much it!

Yes. You don’t earn any weapons or armor abilities through specializations, so they’ll probably be unlocked 1-50.

Alright thanks so much! It seems like 1-50 will be a treasure trove of goodies considering how much helmets, legs, forearms, visors, and shoulders there are!

Didn’t they say there are a couple specializations they haven’t shown yet?

There are 8 in the LE, and all 8 have been shown. I’m sure that’s all of them.

I don’t think that is possible… They shown us the 2 we would be able to start out with, and the LE states that you would have early access to 6 more, meaning 8. I guess it is possible, but I doubt it.

You start off with 2 to choose, and 6 are in the limited edition. You’ve been wrong on two accounts, so I won’t be taking your word for it. Haha

I’m fairly sure they said there are a couple specializations they haven’t shown yet.

You know what I mean; if you get the LE, you choose from 8 specializations (I HATE TYPING THAT OUT) total.

I don’t know. They haven’t said anything since that huge bulletin.

Nope, there’s 8, and only 8. You might be thinking of the typo in the IGN article that said there were 10, but that was…well…a typo.

Maybe we will get more with DLC’s or anything, but i think 8 are fine (for me)

Ah that’s probably it, considering that’s where I first read about them.
