This paragraph from the Little English Halo Blog has got me really excited about Specialisations:
> After reaching your Spartan’s level cap you can “re-enlist” into a specialisation that is geared toward a particular playstyle: Sniper, driver etc. Then unlock specific emblems and armour skins as well as an “exclusive” ability.
I wonder what Specialisations there will be? I hope it isn’t just a few boring ones, like: Gunner, Sniper and Stealth.
I hope there are some more interesting, halo-esque, ones like: Driver, Air Assault, Pilot etc.
I think it’s also damn cool we unlock specific armour and emblems to those specialisations, especially as it’s a great way of identifying people’s play style. I bet there’s some pretty cool armour!
EX: driver tree) unlocks: faster turns. better vehicle duribility, faster cool down on the guns and maybe easier handling?
Pilot tree) unlocks: faster gun cool down, faster flips (banshee) better duribility, more banshee bombs or in a falcons case maybe we could get lock on missles?
Sniper tree) camo lasts longer, more ammo in sniper, wider radar distance in scope, faster reload?
just an idea. since they did say it was going an RPG way. also remember we have 5 custom classes so maybe we could have different classes for different roles.
As long as it doesn’t give anyone any advantage, it’s fine. I have always liked Halo because of its… fairness?
Can’t seem to find the word I’m looking for…

Perhaps your refering to everyone starting off the same? I feel you, but if they can give us these “perks” and not have it break gameplay don’t you think they would make a nice addition?

That’s exactly what I mean. And yeah you’re right. As long as it doesn’t break the gameplay or give anyone a huge advantage for being a higher rank (that spartan level cap) I’m all for it.

Hopefully it won’t. I mean, I would just be happy with specialised armour and emblems. Hopefully the bonus ability is just something to make you feel “specialised”, but actually isn’t that great.
For example, A Sniper doing slightly more damage to vehicles? In BTB vehicle games it’ll make a difference, but it won’t in competitive gun fights.

It was a really big part of halo, and ill be honest i am going to miss it. But im also up for trying new things but i am kind of worried about one spec. so far. shielding, it lets you recharge your shields faster. That just sounds too unfair to me.
It means there is a maximum level you can reach. Once you reach it, you can’t level up any more. Instead, you are given the option to ‘Re-enlist’ (start again from the beginning) and specialise into a new career.

Yeah, but that was more about Specs than Perks.
Because, Perks are similar to Mods.
Specializations are something totally different and people needed to know.
I can’t wait for that person who types in purple to read this. That user was the one who kept telling me the perks/modifications were CONFIRMED TO BE called “specializations”
Sorry, it just feels so damn good to be right after all the ignorance I’ve had to deal with regarding this issue.
It was said that there are 10 levels. Does this mean 10 specializations?
Also once we pick a specialization will we be able to choose another before hitting max level again, and once we hit max level on a specialization will we be able to choose it later? Ie hit max level with specialization 1, max level it, max level all the other specializations, then go back and choose specialization 1 again?
as if playing as a team wasn’t already in jeopardy… Now instead of my team playing the objective there’'s gonna be people worrying about getting their cool new sniper skin. WOWEEEE

Except now you actually get rewarded for doing team oriented stuff…
