Does anyone know if Halo Infinte will be like Halo 4 or Halo 5? By that I mean will it have a podcast type story or a movie to introduce characters. With Halo 4 we had “Halo: Forward Unto Dawn” that released a new few minutes every week until Halo 4 came out. And Halo 5 has the “Hunt The Truth” interview/journalist type podcast story and came out with 2 seasons until the game launched. It only seems fair that we get something like that that for this new one. Anyone else agree?

The only problem is that Shadows of Reach is a book so it’s not really a special like the other 2 games got because each released an episode until the game release and a book cannot really do that. Besides, videos like Fall of Reach about how Blue Team met or Halo: Nightfall to introduce Spartan Locke would be really a really cool thing to get again so we can get to know more about the characters or the worlds in the new game.

Maybe there will be something minor, but I wouldn’t expect anything like Hunt the Truth because people were kind of burned by that type of marketing campaign and it doesn’t look like 343 is currently following that strategy. The book may be Halo: Infinite’s “special” (you mean marketing campaign?) just like how CE had books before it so that it provides some leading up info but nothing very integral. If there was a podcast, movie, or something similar I wouldn’t expect any integral info or anything like Hunt the Truth. I could be wrong about this though.
We simply don’t know.
Literally, the only things the Halo community knows about Infinite are that:
- It’s a sequel to Halo 5
- There is a new, pilot character
343’s marketing strategy and/or pre-release specials fall into that void of “we have no idea”.
I really want an ARG. Hunt the Truth was adjacent to an ARG, I know that Halo 5 had Hunt the Signal. I just want something to dive into and gain a little insight into this game. I was hoping that March would be a reveal month, but with all the craziness in the world, I’m assuming it won’t happen at all.
