I believe they said some armor will be unlocked from achievements, so yes.
Well hopefully they don’t pull a Bungie and make it so that everyone who has logged on their Xbox account on Bungie.net gets Recon… its took forever to get it and then Bungie decided as a last thing to the community to give everyone with 7th Collum symbols by their GT’s Recon… garbage!
To answer your question they have said that there will be hard tasks that will give you rare armour! But all I really care about is that they NEVER give it out for free! IDC if its 50 years from now a company should never give a set like Recon away just because, and any other rare armour set for that matter!
It’s just game armor,It was nice of them to do that.
I would love to see Vidmasters return, where you had to get many corresponding achievements, team up and play with friends

haha i agree i hope the armory more specifically the helmet variety is huge ilove helmets 
and some of the helmets are looking cheesey so lets hope

precisley its just fun and it keeps the game alive …can they make new armour after release?

Bungie never gave Recon out for free, you still had to complete the seven Vidmaster challenges and log into Bungie.net and hit the claim my recon button, after 343i took over, they could no longer continue to the Road to Recon challenge and unlocked Recon to everyone.
They said something about rare armor sets being achieved by specific tasks.
Loved em too, but I hate achievements that are so hard, it takes either forever to achieve or is impossible.
I started playing Halo 2 PC in 08 and just got the last 2 achievements in it, which were matchmaking based. Everyone plays slayer, so it was hard to get without having to get people to group up to help. Just got the last 2 today.
But ya, getting the achievements, and armor that comes with em, should be fun.
I remember the good old days where everyone was rushing to get all of the vid master achievements. Those were some of the most difficult achievements I’ve ever gotten! I would love to see something similarly challenging to appear in Halo 4.

sorry to say this but if you think LASO is hard then Mythic would be absolutely impossible. Just the blind skull difference. but they are worlds apart. i hope the dont have achievements or armor for mythic players though. that seems a little TOO exclusive. ya know. make the armor difficult but still easy enough so that pretty much everyone can get it. exclusive stuff is not important. making it challenging yet still accessible is.
I like the achievement way of earning things more than the credits. More bragging rights 
I have a feeling the GRD is going to be the new recon.
Yes a huge let down would be making Acheivements only the top 1% of Halo Players can get. Ive beaten every FPS Halo on Legendary but just last night i freaking raged cause i cant get the last 2 anniversary achievements ‘‘Beat the Library on heroic or legendary no deaths’’ and ‘‘beat the library on legendary in 30 mins or less’’ LeaderBoards and world Record Speed runs and play throughs are for top tier Halo players. Acheivements are for dedicated Halo Players who after enough trys can eventually get it.
