Spec Codes Haven't Been Properly Distributed

Thaaaaaaaaaanks.

You’ll have to forgive me, my dear forum moderators, but nowhere in the forum rules do I see something about “Do not post about specialization codes.” Sure, there was the official thread, but that got locked, so we can’t exactly post there anymore to discuss the situation.

I understand that, as forum moderators, you don’t have any direct control over this situation, and [edited for content]! Please? Haha

Xbox support still directs us to these forums. People on these forums claim that its Microsoft’s fault. Either way, it still reflects very poorly on 343. They need to address this. [edited for content] sweeping it under the rug is NOT the proper way to address this.

Despite the final post in the official thread, there are many people who should have received codes, but have yet to. This isn’t just about skins or helmets, these are game changing perks that people deserve access to but are being denied. Actual gameplay is on the line here and it is utterly wrong to just leave people hanging while shrugging off the issue with a blanket statement.

Please, PLEASE at least make another sticky saying “We’re trying to get in touch with people who CAN do something so that we can fix this for you!”

And as a request to future posters here, please don’t spam your confirmations that you deserved your code. Show support, demand attention… but don’t spam “(GT)/Yes/Yes/Yes” or similar. If you posted in the official thread, your info is still there if they decide to actually go through it thoroughly.

Edit: Spoiler can be ignored. Just received a PM to that end.

If a moderator still finds this post to be in breach of certain rules (note: this isn’t a repost–I’ve changed it to fit within the rules I broke before), then please leave me some way of knowing who the “applicable moderator” is. Thanks in advance.

Getting my code would be nice, but you know what I really want? For them to explain what is going on and if I’ll get it or not in a respectful way. As a paying customer, what I’m seeing is essentially a big screw you and shut up by closing any threads that ask politely. The codes would be nice, but a little respect as a customer is what I’d really like, and I don’t feel like we’re getting that here.

Here, let me help. Here you go friends.

Have someone with the codes (that you trust obviously) recover your profile and pick your new class for you.

The reason xbox support sends people here, is because that is what they are told to do.

If the problem isn’t with XBL or the Xbox, they tell you to contact the developer. The Xbox support chat/phone staff isn’t equipped with the knowledge to handle any of this. The only reason they know about it is because of all the people complaining.

343 tells you to contact Microsoft because it was their promotion, their codes, their eligibility requirements.

Sadly, there isn’t anything 343 can do about it. Even if they wanted to release the specs to everyone tomorrow, they would have to go through a certification process for the update required.

According to Microsoft’s extensive records, everyone who was eligible for a code, was sent one at least once. You’ll have to wait. (be sure and read the conversation)

It’s a bummer, but people who don’t live in the US didn’t even have the opportunity to get the specs early. I’m guessing they will release them with the CSR update, but who knows.

Ahh, I think I remember you posting that in my thread from last night! Thanks given, again! It definitely seems like a feasible work around, especially with the use of a USB stick to transfer accounts. Appreciate you posting it again.

Would still like to have some official word on what the plan is moving forward, though.

Specialization codes have been distributed. For more information on the distribution process, check this post: https://forums.halowaypoint.com/yaf_postsm2019737_The-Official-Specializations-Email-Thread.aspx#post2019737
