I have been noticing how you guys made the respawning very unpleasant and unfair. Too many times I know for a fact I just looked in an area and no one was there and all of sudden within a half a second, I get hit from behind when I know no one was there.
This had happened too many times where I kinda knew something was off, I can’t be the only player to think this.
I really think they have it set when you will get an enemy spawned from behind by design, which is unfair.
These are what I call a cheapshot to victory, no gun battle to make sure at least there is a fair fight. but to get right behind someone and get basically a free kill is not cool.

or an enemy will spawn next to their teammate you’re in the middle of a 1v1 with. or you will spawn right in the line of sight of the enemy and die.

Was just about to make a thread like this. Almost every FPS in existence has TERRIBLE spawn systems, aside from Lost Planet and Gears of War. You should NEVER spawn near an enemy, why is this such a difficult concept?

Never ever had this issue in a legacy Halo title. It’s really rare.
I wonder the exact same thing. Spawns in Infinite are god awful. Tend to get bad spawns on smaller maps vs big team maps very often.

The dynamic spawning system used in Halo 3 with its spawn danger weighting system was darn near perfect. It accounted for whether an enemy was aiming at the spawn point, if there was a grenade on the spawn point, where you last died, where your teammates were, and where the enemies were. It was excellent. They also had emergency spawn points that couldn’t even be seen or edited in forge, just in case the danger weighting was too heavy at all of the existing spawn points. If they adopted the same system, even if they wanted to make some minor changes that may be relevant to some of the newer functionality and weapons and items in infinite, that would be just fine.
They also need to work on the dynamic vs static spawn points that seem to exist in gametypes that they shouldn’t. On live fire for example, it feels like whatever team spawns at A and whatever team spawns at C will be far more likely to continue to spawn there for the remainder of the game, with very little regard for where your team is or where the enemies are. It makes oddball and stronghold on that map super frustrating. As soon as you see that you got bottom the C spawn, you know you’re gonna get drawn back to it like a magnet, while the enemy continuously spawns at A, which is a power position for setting up in oddball. On stronghold setting up to maintain control of A and having such a quick and mostly concealed route to guard, capture, or defend B, gives the team with the A biased spawn a huge advantage. They don’t seem like they’re completely static on that map because it is possible to spawn opposite of your initial spawn under the right conditions so it’s not completely static, but those conditions usually have to be the sort of drastic conditions that would have triggered an emergency spawn point on Halo 3. It is the only map that I’ve noticed this on. Literally every other map you can usually tell when a spawn flip is coming based on where you or your teammates are when the enemy is spawning back in.
I’ve also noticed that in the custom game options there is an option to enable or disable a respawn line-of-sight check. In swat it feels like that either isn’t enabled, or if it is, it isn’t working as intended or as much of an influence on the spawns as it should be.
I love the game, which is why I’m so passionate about this type of stuff. It’s just one of the very few gameplay related issues that really bothers me and brings the game down a slight notch. The others being the inconsistent and broken melee (including lunge range, registration, and enemy collision breaking during melee as well as enormous inconsistencies with the gravity hammer range and damage drop offs), asymmetrical weapon spawns on btb (the battle rifle and the commando are not on the same level and are not interchangeable in any way that doesn’t offset the favor to one side and the same goes for the stalker rifle vs shock rifle so please let’s stop pretending that they are equals), big team battle not being BR starts, and the very randomized and highly announced vehicle drops in btb like a scorpion dropping closer to one side near the end of the game which usually hands the team with that spawn a free victory in a close match.
Sorry for the wall of text.

Wow hahahaha! Thought you were joking about getting banned for that but your post is hidden for no reason other than that which I could think of. That is kind of hilarious. Does this forum really ban for saying that word? Are you serious? I thought Halo was supposed to be fun.
