Spawn killing is becoming an epidemic

No joke. I’m about to quit playing Warzone Assault because I keep getting put into matches where the enemy team jumps from their base and proceeds to assault our spawn point. I can’t fathom why this is considered acceptable behavior and I seriously hope 343i is taking this nonsense into consideration when designing new maps. Something to fix the problem in the current maps would also be nice, because this is getting ridiculous. It went from a minor annoyance that rarely happened, to an epidemic that happens way too often.

Just to give you one idea what it’s like.

i alwase thought it was odd they never made covered spawns. the opposing team has direct lanes of fire right onto spawn points.

Yes, the map designs as they are just don’t work with Warzone Assault. Instead of making Assault versions of Warzone maps, they should actually make unique maps purpose built with Warzone Assault in mind. It was fun when people played it normally but it seems they realized you can just exploit the poor map design and it’s not fun anymore.

the newest WZA map is the worst. the offensive team can easily get spawn trapped right in the beginning. there was little to no cover and the enemies could easily just sit there on top of the base or on the left n right side and just spawn kill all day with no effort. there is no cover you can run to. the second you spawn you are already being hit and even if you get behind cover that will protect in every direction. and even if you get close enough to get the better cover. it just takes a grenade or 2 n you’re dead. the only way to get around it is hoping 1 of the defenders is dumb enough to come to closer to offensive spawn so that it will spawn you on the other side of the base. but thats it. that whole map i feel has small limited spawn areas.

i would get if it was to hold them off. but its another thing if the second you spawn in you are already getting hit with no cover, out in the open.

Controlling their spawn points so you know where they are I get that. That’s a legit strategy. Immediately shooting them and killing them as soon as they appear though that’s no bueno. 343 has done an awful job with spawns this game despite saying they’d be looking into fixing them.

I am okay with being spawn trapped in WZ at core base, i just pull out my beam rifle and shoot them and get tons of kills in the base as they try to enter. But im not okay with WZA where i spawn out in the open with little cover and when the defenders get a slight advantage for even a second on the new map, all that ever happens is “SPAWN! DIE! SPAWN! DIE! SPAWN! DIE!” thats dumb. you might as well have a forge map where 1 person puts a spawn point down and the other guy keeps meleeing him in the back continue sly getting melee kills, because it is equivalent to that.

People wanted sprint for back quick into the batte. Well that work for both sides, I kill a guy in my base… Now with sprint in less than 10 secs same guy can shootme again in my base. My english is bad but hope you understand my pointview.

Alright, I’m in general an anti-spawntrap fella, will rip anyone apart who even dares to speak positively about it, but this post kinda falls on its nose, rolls over, starts crying as it sees itself bleed after which it runs to its mommy, sobbing and screaming at the top of its lungs until it finally got enough attention to tell her that it hurt itself very very bad. Especially since we are talking about Warzone Assault, with the defenders as the “offender” here and not the attackers as in regular Warzone. You know why the complains actually are a thing in Warzone? Because the attackers refuse to go for the objective, that’s why and that’s why it sucks most, because they are not playing like they are supposed to. Defenders in Warzone however? They are exactly supposed to do this very thing, which is make capturing their base as much a pain in the Chief’s glorius space diaper as possible.

Listen. The defenders are not bound to sitting all day in their bases til the 6minutes are gone. They are free to do whatever they think is hindering the enemy best, in this case leaving their base at the cost of a more vulnerable base, since one less spartan on the ground = one less to kill until the enemy starts capturing. If I actually had a team I could rely on, I’d leave the base more often, but alas every idiot dies in seconds, so I won’t step a foot outside as a defender, except for when I respawn. That’s just the benefit of having a team.

Now to focus on what we’ve been calling spawntrapping and farming in the past days, what you’ve shown in the video, supposedly being the same thing, was none of that. I did not see a dude spawn, walk five seconds, be completely unable to defend himself by getting REQ’d with tanks and power weapons and such, unable to recharge his shields and therefore die an immediate and annoying death. No, there are just a big bunch of dudes getting shot at by an inaccurate ghost ultra without firing back in full strength, something that can wreck these things quicker than you can say “Arby and the Chief is an amazing show, to bad it’s finished”.

You’re team is just standing there, one in cover, the other one running away fromFuel Rod shots, one getting splattered, one on the REQ console and let’s not forget you, one not even spawning. Who the hell knows where the rest of your team is. At the very least, that is a very poor example and just a sore complaint by someone that lost a serious round of Assault. These are bound to happen, an easy solution would’ve been a bunch of plasma pistols for example, just get creative. But I guess the unfair spawn killing done by the defenders was just too much…

Not really, considering it takes 10 seconds to spawn. And sprint would help them from being spawntrapped because as you said it takes them less time to get back into the base which reduces the chance of them being shot out in the open from their spawn.

But you need your weapon ON for leave your base and they dont, just sprint+thrust+jumps for back on their spot and start to shoot again. Spawn trap is part of Halo, ever was. In my opinion with sprint is worst.

Well said, good sir. The supplied video only shows terrible teamwork from five members of the Blue team. Five members including yourself. Where are the remaining seven members? Probably, trying to the capture the Spire but chances are these Blue team are out-numbered and being out-gunned, because five Blue team members were to afraid to move up, flank or even respawn.

The only thing I see in this video is you not spawning and your team being destroyed, you put yourself in this position of domination.
