Spartans looked better before (Shiny & Reflective)

Compare the Alpha Halo 5 spartans: http://www.halopedia.org/images/a/a1/Mark-vi-gen1.png

To the Beta Halo 5 spartans: http://cdn0.vox-cdn.com/entry_photo_images/12958320/Halo-5-Guardians-Multiplayer-Beta-Trench-Breakout-Move-Out.jpg

Clearly the Alpha Halo 5 spartans have more polygons, better lighting, better reflections.
So overall before the beta it had BETTER GRAPHICS.

The Beta Halo 5 spartans look like Halo 4 spartans with slightly better graphics, they still look like they
are from an Xbox360 game opposed too an Xbox One game. I understand it’s beta meaning by the final release the
Spartans will look better, but the Alpha Halo 5 Spartans looked soooo much better, right now the spartans
are going in the wrong direction graphically.

I know alot of you complained that the spartans before looked too shiny, and too cartoony. But now they
look too dull! Plus the shinyness they had before showed the Xbox One’s graphical powers better! The Spartans
looked like cars from Forza 5’s autovista mode (that is a good thing!), except in the form of armored super soldiers! They looked beautiful!
Also Halo’s art style has always been light hearted and colourful.

Proof the Halo’s art style is colourful: http://i.imgur.com/Tk6uU2u.jpg

Proof that Halo 3 had shiny spartans: http://youtu.be/XfC69UMQLeQ?t=38s

Halo 3 had shiny spartans and no one complained. 343i please bring back the shinyness to the spartans, they looked
so much better with all the reflections! It fits Halo’s colourful art style. Halo isn’t meant to be dull and gritty like CoD!
The only dull and gritty Halo game was Halo Reach… And then Halo 4 brought the colourfulness back to the art style!
Make Halo 5 colourful again! Start by returning the Spartans to their shiny look! Thanks

Well, I feel obligated to point out that the picture of the Mark VI armour that you say is from the Halo 5 Alpha is, in fact, not an in-game render. It is actually simply the base model with a bit of colour onto it to give an idea of what the armour will look like. It is by no means supposed to represent the game’s graphical capabilities in the least bit.

and my guess is that the spartans in the beta are place holders

But I thought they were in game graphics… Noooo!!! Halo 5 is on Xbox One, and is an exclusive to Xbox One, it’s Microsoft’s flagship game! The graphics need to look that good :frowning:

I always thought Next Gen Halo in game graphics would be as good as CGI from 2009 (Halo Wars cutscenes).
Or at least almost as good, I’m disapointed :frowning:
Those Alpha Spartan renders looked sooo good. So far the only CGI quality graphics of Halo on Xbox One is the Halo Ring on Zenith and the Alpha build of Halo 5 Spartans…

Shiny colorful Spartans look dumb. Reach Spartans looked legit. Obviously an opinion but I think a lot of people feel the same.

Then you must have disliked the look of the Halo 3 spartans…

still, you gotta admit, other than Reach, Halo’s art style has been a bit cartoony and colourful. And thats why I love it.

i’m one of those people. the reach spartans were by far my favorite.

Not entirely, I didn’t really care for the shininess but the armor was well designed and looked the part. I disliked halo 4 armor more because of the shininess combined with the armor design, which seemed to be inspired by Japanese manga or anime - not very halo-like.

Actually Master Chief’s armor was designed by a japanese dude named Shi Kai Wang: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Master_Chief_(Halo)#Character_design

I hope the armor is like in reach, they shouldn’t necessarily be shiny. I like when they look like they went through some battles, experienced. The pics were not the alpha, they were pre game renders without any detail yet. I just want black under suits(full black, not parts) and worn armor. I guess I wouldn’t mind if they were a bit shiny like halo 3 while being scuffed up.

Those aren’t alpha models! They’re not even in engine, nor do they have their textures applied.

Those are high res production models in a pre-rendered environment. Game models are made with a high poly count, before being imported into the engine. The engine converts those models into lower poly models appropriate for the real time rendered environment.

so much for “next gen” how disapointing :frowning:

Those models looked soooo good.

**I had hoped that Halo 5’s in game graphics would look as good as CGI from 2007 (this trailer)**
**
If those Alpha Models are not in game, then so far the only thing on Xbox One’s Halo series that looks CGI quality (next gen quality)**Is that Halo ring in the background of Zenith…

The alpha models were in game, but they were going to bash them up a bit.

to be fair, this game comes out in a year so itll be polished. plus multiplayer always looks worse than single player. andd the beta already looks amazing in motion. RUL slayer on empire

Explain why, your comment is crappy…

Yeah, i have to say that i was really excited for how the Spartans would look from the H5G Beta reveal at E3. Then i saw the in-game models… -___-

I seriously hope they go back to dark models again…

Does the military go out in shiny and polished jeeps and tanks? No. Spartans shouldn’t be shiny either. It catches the light and reveals their position to enemies.

Guys, the armor in the Beta was Halo 4 placeholder armor. When we get to play the Beta, the armor will be the new armor most likely.

I thought we talked about this?
