I feel like in past Halo Games the Spartans (and Elites) felt like they had actual weight to them, it’s hard to explain, but in the Preview - to me - it was feeling like the Spartans are as light as a feather, which shouldn’t be as they are described as walking tanks, pretty much.
Or is it really just me? I mean the last time i played Halo in Multiplayer has been back in 2016, maybe i just remember it wrong? Maybe i’m to used to how Destiny 2 feels.
In my opinion, all FPS Halo titles seemed to have that “floaty” feeling. Believe it or not, this is one of fastest paced, if not THE fastest paced Halo titles to date. I believe the floaty feeling is just part of the Halo universe aesthetic. If you go back to any halo before they introduced the sprinting mechanic, they all feel extremely slow and even more floaty.

Now that I read this again, I think when you say “floaty”, you’re referring to the gameplay feeling more fast paced. Because you mentioned how in previous titles, everyone felt heavy. They probably felt more heavy because you could literally only walk in all Halo’s before Reach. I believe they’re trying to make the game feel more fluent and fast paced than ever before. In my opinion it’s a leap in the right direction. Think about it though, for the kids that play Halo Infinite as their first halo experience ever, if they tried playing old school halo games, they’d probably hate them because of how slow it feels compared to Infinite.

There probably is fall damage, we just haven’t played a map tall enough for it yet.
I think it’s fine that there’s no fall damage (after all, we didn’t have it in Halo 2 or 3 and those were perfectly fine), even if you launch yourself up high with a grapplehook and land straight down.
Player collision needs to return for sure imo, asap.
