So Frank O’Connor confirmed that the flood will not make an appearance in Halo 4’s campaign, and they didn’t. But, he never said they wouldn’t return in Spartan Ops. My theory is since 343 already has the flood models in Halo 4’s multiplayer, they may use the same models to implement the flood into the storyline of Spartan Ops and then be part of the campaign in Halo 5. They could use the regular flood models from before and the new models to take place as the infected Spartan IV’s. I don’t see why they can’t bring the flood back into the story, it’s not like they got completely wiped out in Halo 3. Anyway, this is just my thought. It could be the UNSC vs. Didact/Covenant/Prometheans vs. Flood, which could make some pretty awesome chapters in Spartan Ops. I think it would be a great idea for 343 to do and it would add a twist back into the story. What do you guys think? Do you think the flood will make a return? Do you want the flood to come back?
Maybe they’ll use the introduction of Flood as the marketing scheme for Spartan Ops Season 2

That could be possible
God I hope so.
Flood in Spartan Ops? DO WANT
Sure. A chance to fight new, more powerful flood? Sign me up.

This. I’m predicting that Jul 'Mdama is going to be the antagonist in Spartan Ops for a few seasons. Eventually, Crimson will have his back against a wall and he will, in a last-ditch effort at defeating humanity, release the flood (either knowingly or not). HE will then either be killed, or forced to work with the humans to stop them before they escape Requiem and consume the galaxy.
Actually, now that I wrote it all down, that sounds way too similar to the original Halo trilogy…Would still be awesome, imo. Especially since Jul isn’t likely to give up his grudge against humanity, and continue to plot against them even as he works with them.
Read my thread about ideas for SO you may find a few things you’ll like.
From the title of this thread and all the recent spartan ops threads I assumed it was going to be something completely different…
It’s a serious possibility that the Flood are still a looming threat. I mean, think about it, the Flood first got released because some Covie’s were stupid enough to let them out back in Halo 1. What’s to say that some scientists on some other Halo ring won’t accidentally make the same mistake? And if they want to keep the Flood out of the main campaigns, they could just have it be a contained story arc in Spartan Ops Season 2.
SEROUSLY read my Ideas for SO thread it has just what you guys want.
Flood would be sweet! Something I always wanted was NPC Flood on some multiplayer maps in the past Halos…
Here’s my ideas for episode 9 and 10 from my thread.
Episode 9
So my idea is your on Vortex. An army of Prometheans and Covenant are gaurding a Forerunner base and you have to infiltrate it and get the Covenant battle plans, also take some Forerunner tech, that will be a huge threat to the UNSC. After killing off the Covies and Prometheans and extracting the battle plans a cruiser is heading to your fireteam to glass the area. Infinity fails to stop it and the cruiser fires.
Episode 10
You fireteam wakes up to a battle, however it’s not UNSC that is fighting the Covenant. It’s the Flood. The Flood was in a research sector not to far from the area that was glassed. The debris from the area hit the buildings and the Flood was released. As the battle continues Crimson learns that the Flood here have evoled to a much stronger state than the infestation found on the Halo Array. Palmer calls in for a pelican however no pelicans can get near the sector as a fleet of Covenant ships have arrived to destroy the Flood. Drastic measures are made and a group of drop pods are sent down. In them is Blue Team and Spartan-117. After a huge fight the battle ends and a pelican comes in and gets the spartans. However the battle is far from over now that the Flood have return and are much more dangerous. Back on Infinity a surpise appearance by a certain elite makes the crew have hope they can win. When the elite hears of the UNSC’s "simple " plan to stop the Flood and the Covenant the first thing he say is “Were it so easy.”
Gonna make an on-topic post here:
No, because it just doesn’t make sense.
The Elites were unable to contain the flood on Halo.
Masterchief contained the flood with heavy losses.
The Forerunners contained the flood at the cost of their civilization.
It doesn’t make sense for a team of Spartan IV’s to battle the flood and contain it in my opinion.
Is that off-topic thing just in gerneral or for my idea?
Here is an idea, or should I say, a ton of ideas for Halo 5:
Return of the brutes… why not? I know it doesn’t make much sense… but 343 could make something up, just like they did with the whole covenant civil war.
Arbiter returns. I’m pretty sure this is going to happen. I mean c’mon, you need your Arbiter.
But… what if a PRECURSOR came in? Someone that the Didact could FEAR? Think about it. That would add so many twists, possibly make the Forerunners side with humanity for a common enemy, therefore killing the precursor, earning mutual respect between species, and resolving the campaign. Cool huh?
I can imagin the Dicat all like “Chief, can I polish your armor after your great mission of killing off my enemies from long ago?”

Maybe Infinity could run into a rebel Brute Cruiser. That would be cool. Or maybe a Flood infected Cruiser.
I highly doubt any Flood plotline would occur on Requiem unless it involved a Flood infested ship impacting. I doubt the Forerunners would contain Flood on one of their safehouses.
Strip the Knight Battlewagon of his teleport AA, make him jump attack more, and reskin him with Flood effects and gurgling sounds = Flood in Halo 4
As for Carrier Forms, reskin kamikaze Grunts.
