I was playing some Reach Firefight and I was reminded of the feature in which you can choose your Firefight voice for your Spartan, where they’d say certain lines depending on what you did. In Halo 5, your Spartans will occasionally give callouts, and there aren’t that many lines of dialogue to go with it. I thought, why not be able to change your Spartan’s voice in-game? Obviously that wont happen now, it’s just a thought for future titles. Having characters from past or present Halo games record ten or so lines like “one shot!”, “reloading!” or “enemy at Red Band!” wouldn’t take up that much time.
And the other feature I reckon Halo might do with is quick chat. If you’re not in a party, the odds are low that you’ll actually talk to people, meaning basic communication is out the window, which is especially irritating in objective game modes. Quick chat would allow for everyone to have a way of communicating, even if you don’t have or don’t want to use a mic. This could then also work with Spartan’s voices, having your Spartan actually shout out load the quick chat commands you give. Other games have very basic anti-spam systems in place, so Halo could easily have one, too, to avoid irritation.
