I enjoyed her back story, but she was used as an exposition data dump in the campaign, and that kinda just relegated her to the role of encyclopedia and nothing more. Her engineering skills weren’t shown or utilized in the game, so I would agree with you in the sense that I would like to see her character be more than a walking encyclopedia in future games. I don’t see her having much of a role though if it’s gonna be a Chief-centric story, but she could be in the background in a few cut scenes or levels.
As much as I am torn on the concept of “Open World”, which usually means “Upgrade Trees”, if that were to happen, I would be completely okay with her being Chief’s armor mechanic or the person he goes to for that, like giving him random comments on upgrade choices. She’s the only one of the main 8 Spartans (Chief, Locke, Fred, Buck, Linda, Vale, Kelly, Tanaka) right now who actually, well, works on engineering and electronics.
If that doesn’t happen, I’d be fine with seeing her in a mission or two as a squadmate/supporting cast member for fixing something or doing something that matches what she does.
Honestly no one in team Osiris or blue team for that matter did anything for me. No good character depth and overall the team was just cringy
I liked Tanka but I wouldn’t mind seeing Locke in Halo 6, while he was poorly developed in Halo 5 with a ok characteristic, I wouldn’t mind seeing him seeing him fighting along side the Chief
And give him more of a personality to him, I found him really bland in Halo 5’s cutscenes

I found her really boring, just another forgetful character to me. Most of the cast was that way for me though, hopefully the new writer can change that if both teams come back.
She probably will come back in Infinite because now that Blue team and Osiris are friends now I’m sure that will be seeing her.

Please no. She was honestly the most retarded character in 5. She had great potential but just seemed to end up getting in the way most of the time and her lines were way wayyyyy to cheesy.
I really didn’t feel like she had anything to bring to the table story wise. or anything wise.
I would love to see Buck and Vale in Halo 6. Buck b/c I like him a lot, and Vale because I enjoyed her in the books, and in Halo 5. Locke and Tanaka are not my cup of tea, but I wouldn’t mind seeing them all (8) be part of H6.
I kinda felt like she and Vale were more exposition characters and her humor was kinda dry and relied a lot on picking on Buck. I wish they had fleshed her out a bit more character development wise.

In the games she didn’t do anything in Escalations she was kinda cool, even outdoing those two ODST and using rebel tactics.
I’d prefer it if Infinite kept the amount of characters at a minimum, and maximize the roles each of those characters plays in the story. H5 had too many characters that it just had to cram in some how, many of whom were only there to input a small piece of story and nothing more. There isn’t much substance to many of H5’s characters outside of the books, and I haven’t read any of the books Osiris appears in, so I know very little about the backstories of Locke, Tanaka, and Vale. To me they’re just very bland characters used to fill up space so you can call it a fire team. They’re man power and exposition dispensers. Same with Blue Team.
Listing off Halo 5’s major characters:

Locke - Chief - Linda - Kelly - Fred - Tanaka - Vale - Buck - Roland - Palmer - Halsey - Lasky - Cortana - Warden Eternal - Arbiter - Exuberant Witness - Jul 'MdamaKind of crowded, right? Now how many of those were of major importance to the story that can’t be replaced? Definitely not that entire list, I’d argue not even half of it. You remove pretty much all of Osiris and Blue Team besides Chief and Locke, and all that changes is a bit of exposition needs to come from someone else.
Let’s compare that to Halo 2’s cast. -
Chief - Arbiter - Johnson - Regret - Truth - Mercy - Keyes - Lord Hood - Tartarus - Rtas 'Vadum - Gravemind - Cortana - Guilty Spark - Sesa 'RafumeeOkay, also a pretty long list, however each of those characters has a role that can’t really be replaced or left out of the story (with the exception of one or two, such as Mercy). You can’t remove Sesa, otherwise the seeds of doubt and an introduction to Rtas aren’t presented to the Arbiter. Without Truth the Great Schism likely wouldn’t occur.
Basically, the story can’t have characters for the sake of having characters, they need to be required for the story. If Tanaka can be given a role that isn’t exposition dump or glorified henchman #4, then by all means she should be in the game. Just don’t but her in because you can.

I would like to pretend that Halo 5’s Campaign did not exist. By far the Cringiest thing Halo has ever had the misfortune of being associated with. The cringy, not funny dialogue, stiff-a*s character cinematic movement, IMO the awkwardest forced diversity I saw before the new Battlefield games, and straight up poorly written, unfollowable story, and bland set of nice looking but sleep-inducing gameplay.
I wish that we never had to see any one other than The Arbiter, MC, Sarah Palmer(Just Barely), Cortana (H5’s cortana was worse than H4’s, IMO), and Buck back from H5.
But, that just means we took up space in the Halo universe with useless Characters (ahem Fireteams Crimson, Majestic) and that is infuriating. So, I would hope that if they do bring some of the people from the last game, that they do it right.
There is nothing more annoying than people shoving “diverisity” down my throat with shotty characters. And I’m hispanic. Johnson, and Miranda Keyes for example were awesome, because they were great characters that added to the story. Many of the Characters in Halo 5 felt forced.
Like, obviously we know that there has to be female Elites, like how the f*** else are they here? Why do you have to have to be all like “OOOOOH, the Arbiter is SoOo cool because he lets Female Elites fight he so female friendly” then only make their appearance through quite frankly, useless radio chatter over your gameplay. The game was JUST fine before that.
If you really wanted to bring in more female characters, why not do it with the same awesomeness as like, Cortana, Keyes, Even the female marines from frkn Halo 2 for cryin’ out loud lol.
