The company that originally made Rhos games merged with another company a few years ago, they now make VR games I believe. Getting someone else to do the work is very likely a low priority, with Infinite, MCC and Halo 5 be9thr main priorities

I really wanted a Spartan Strike port. I ended up just buying it on the Windows Store for $3 and played through it with an Xbox controller on my computer.
You aren’t missing anything.
It’s not bad by any means, it’s more of the same from Spartan Assault, it’s fairly repetitive gameplay. Pick your weapons, move from objective marker to objective marker in short missions.
If you really want it for the story, you can watch the cutscenes online but the whole thing is meant to be a simulation, so it’s not very necessary to the main lore.
