So if it’s around the time the covenant are digging for the portal, why are we fighting elites and not brutes in spartan strike?
i know it’s a simulation and everything but seems like an oversight to me.

This took place shortly before Regret took off and trashed the city. There were mostly elites there at that time.

There are brute chieftains on gamma halo, as well as drones. Who’s faction of covenant are we fighting exactly? I assume the gamma halo part is in 2557.

I see, didn’t get that far yet, just heard Roland say that and thought it was weird.
Cause Regret is still there. He favored Elites I believe.
And plus. I believe Regret was the one who brought the Conduit. Look at the Halo 2A terminals. The Conduit is there. I mean the Conduit opens Slipspace Portals. So maybe Regret used this logic, if the Conduit can open Slip-space portals. Maybe it can open the Portal to the Ark.

Probably because like Alpha 9 they were doing something else: looking for another high value asset or they didn’t want to use them if they got killed in the ensuing slipspace rupture.

Roland and Jonah were only 1 of many.
