Spartan Strike & Spartan Assault - WINDOWS - CAN'T SIGN IN

When I launch both of these games I now get an error message after an attempt to sign in and connect with my Microsoft Account.

ERROR ‘To use this app, you need to sign in with the Microsoft account that was used to download it. Go to the Windows Store, select Settings, Accounts and Preferences, then sign in with the purchasing account. If this doesn’t help, uninstall and reinstall the app at the Windows Store.’

I’ve had both games running fine on this PC just last week, so I want to know if anyone else is experiencing this problem, or if it is just me.

I’ve tried doing what the message suggests, plus a lot more. I’ve removed my firewall, uninstalled antivirus software, uninstalled and reinstalled the Store and Xbox apps, as well as reset and repaired them. I’ve even created a desktop profile for my Microsoft Account on the PC but all of this has not worked. I even tried another PC, and I get the exact same issue.

Can anyone test this and let me know if you have any luck signing in. If this is not only affecting me, then how can we get it looked at hopefully fixed?

You’re not alone I’m afraid. I’ve had the same thing and I’ve tried multiple times and ways to fix it, but it won’t connect. Like you, that includes different PC / firewall / antivirus too.
It must be something to do with the PC version only at the moment because I recently bought a Windows phone to get the achievements on the SS mobile version and I was able to download the game and connect just fine. This is very annoying though as I was trying to 100% complete the game and only had assault ops left to do, so hopefully they fix this soon. I wondered if it’s got anything to do with the sun setting of the 360 games (e.g. these are running off the same servers), if so, it should be back up.

I’m really disappointed about this situation, I initially contacted Halo Waypoint support by opening a ticket, they bounced me to Microsoft support because they no longer support it, I contacted Microsoft support and they suggested me to do useless things that didn’t bring me any solution, at the end after trying the game even on another PC they tell me that I need to open another ticket on Halo Waypoint, I did it again explaining the situation and they replied with the exact same answer as before. So at this point the game is abandoned to itself and apparently no one cares about anything to solve the situation.

I got into the Halo Series this December. Following a, in what order to play the Halo Series list, I reached Halo Spartan Assault and had troubles signing in the game. It never worked. After some troubleshooting from google nothing worked. I tried multiple fixes by myself and I made it work, I didn’t know what exactly worked but I managed to launch and login every time successfully after that initial log in.
Now, I am at Halo Spartan Strike. The same issue occurred, and I fixed it and I am pretty sure I know what to do in order to play the game. Also pretty cool that the game rewards you for finishing the games in the series.

(Solution) If you have trouble logging in to Spartan Assault/Spartan Strike on the Xbox App you have to Quit the Game, sign out of the Xbox App and sign back in, launch the game, and should work. Restarting the PC or internet connection or closing the app won’t work. You have to manually log out and log in again.

(Additional) If this for some reason doesn’t work, I heard that the game might have issues seeing the 2 accounts logged into its system. So, IF THE ABOVE STEP DOES NOT WORK, Quit the game. Sign out of Xbox and Windows Store (Microsoft Store) and just log in on Xbox APP and launch the game. Do not log in to Microsoft Store.

(EXTRA) Be sure to have the same account logged in from which you bought the game.
