Hey all,
It seems like there was, at one time, a “Spartan Strike” avatar in the MCC, featuring the main spartan character (in orange War Master armor) from Spartan Strike. Currently, there’s a “War Master” avatar in-game that you get for the “Siege of Ivory Tower” achievement, but it’s just a drab green spartan.
What ever happened to that old avatar and can I still get it?

My Spartan Strike stuff got removed (avatar, emblem, and nameplate), so I don’t think it is possible to get them any more. This was from a time when I only had half of the achievements for Halo: Spartan Strike. Now that I have them all, I still don’t have them back.
I’ve seen some people say they still have theirs, however, and others have also said theirs have been removed. It would be nice to get them back, but I have long suspected that 343i wants to distance themselves from the Spartan series.

The games were fun though, they were just made at a bad time in the series and marketed poorly.

The nameplate is available as of Season 7 at least. I just got it today. Despite having full completion in Spartan Strike, I have no rewards in MCC.
Yeah, I think 343 is happy to forget that legacy titles exist. Dropping Service Record support for most older games (even HW2 which should hardly be thought of as legacy) is just another way to push players towards Infinite - to be more specific, the Infinite cash shop. Crying shame. I love twin-stick shmups and Spartan Strike is easily in my top 5 favorite Halo games.

I actually bought spartan strike and played through the whole campaign a week back as I’ve heard that it grants you a nameplate in MCC, sadly I didn’t get anything but the game is still pretty fun if you’re on a trip.
I couldn’t find out why they decided to remove these items from the MCC, but I know for a fact that it is not possible to get them anymore.

Oh, absolutely. I loved the games and wish it was a genre 343i consider more of in the future.

My favorite part was how “Halo” the two spartan games felt. They didn’t feel like pre-existing arcade games with a Halo title; all the sound effects, environments, enemies were pulled straight from the main games. And the music was almost as Halo as you could get without literally being a cover of Marty’s work.
Well at least I have the nameplate. Orange and white War Master forever
I wish they would just go with more genres in general, Halo is a franchise after all, I want a Shadow of Mordor/Asscreed Style Sangheili hack n slash
