Spartan Sangheili?

This has been a question of mine for a while, and just now getting to ask it. If humans are able to genetically modify other humans to make them perfect for combat, and war, and then proceed to make them even better. What would happen if the Sangheili did the same thing to one of their species? I know that the Sangheili are already made for war, and combat, as it is very apparent being the backbone of the Covenant for so long. But what if they made their own Spartan version with their species? Would be anything like the Humans Spartan, and what would it be capable of? I’d like to know what people thought.

I think an augmented and specially armored Elite would be quite the challenge, even for an experienced Spartan such as Master Chief. Though, I don’t think it will ever happen or, rather it would be very unlikely due to the Sanghelli probably viewing something like artifically augmenting one’s body and combat skills as dishonorable.

Human and Sangheili have differant biology. What could be food to human could be poison to Sangheili. So the chemicals used in the Augmentation have funnily enough been augmented to not kill humans. That and an armored sangheili is about as strong as a Spartan anyway.

But if a Sangheili equivalent of both the Spartan augmentation and Mjolnir were to be invented, the results would be outstanding. The Spartanheili could probably verse 2 armored Hunter colony (The duos you fight in-game) in a fist fight, and win. It would be a challenge for even the Best Spartan IIs to beat a singular Spartanheili let alone hunters.

The Sangheili are a honorable race, and I’m guessing any form of physical altering would be considered very unhonorable by their standards.

Well it would obviously be better than anything humanity can currently produce. However there’s probably nothing special about the Sangheili such that they with augmentations could reach a level that humans never could. They are both made of the same stuff and obey the same laws of chemistry. What would happen is that next gen human augmentations would be be better in order to create rough_*_ parity. There are limits as well. You can build a skyscraper as tall as your foundations and construction materials will allow. Build it too high and the lower levels will be crushed by the weight. With muscles, tendons and bones at some point there will be a limit, either because there’s no better way of constructing organic muscle tissue or because injuries would be sustained elsewhere.

And I don’t think Sangheili are too “honorable” to use such procedures either. It seems like common sense to use them, because powerful enemies aren’t going to handicap themselves just because you can’t keep up. They’ve already shown that they will place survival over beliefs when they fought the Prophets at the start of the Covenant.

  • There’d probably always be some differences owing to different anatomy, but I don’t think anything as massive as Sangheili always being 10 times stronger than a human or something. And if there is some reason that means Sangheili DNA always allows for superior capability then you just say “Screw genetics, I’ve got Nanomachines, son!” and punch their lights out with carbon nanotube muscles.
