I feel slightly worried that 343 will make this coating available to everyone in halo infinite and I’m hoping they don’t make the same mistake they did with the helioskrill armor in halo 5. Please 343 if you are reading this, the community wants a challenge, they want to work towards something and be rewarded. There needs to be certain armor coatings and armor sets that can only be achieved for completing certain tasks. It was a slap in the face to those who beat all of MCCs campaigns on legendary and unlocked helioskrill, but then everyone was able to just randomly get the armor without completing the challenge. Crossing my fingers and I hope the watchdog coating stays exclusive to those who put the time in to obtain it in infinite. I also hope there is a new armors set or coating in infinite that is exclusive for beating all of the MCCs campaigns on legendary again.

Haha I’m just joking. But I agree. I was upset with what they did with Helioskril in Halo 5 and for your sake hope they don’t do it in Halo Infinite with the coating and whatever else SR152 players are awarded. I don’t think they’ll do it again, though. But the recent inclusion of the “Mister Chief” helmet in “The Exchange” on MCC makes me concerned considering that was a time-limited event tied to a challenge that everybody can now just go and buy for a handful of season points.
I’ll never even see triple digit ranks in Halo 5, but for those that do, you deserve a distinguished award for what you accomplished.

Anything from Challenges will only come from Challenges, anything from Battlepass will only come from battlepass, anything from Store will only come from Store, etc etc. So when it comes to the Watchdog set, only people who acquired 152 will be allowed to wear it.

I don’t recall them saying that specifically. They just said there won’t be shortcuts to unlocking skill and challenge-based rewards like buying skins with “Halo Points” or whatever. They mentioned it in one of the recent Inside Infinite blogs. They used a specific terminology for it that I can’t quite remember…I know that’s not super helpful lol sorry
