Can somebody please explain Spartan Points to me?
They are the xp of the game. You get them when you complete war games matches and spartan ops.
You get one every rank up and you upgrade your load outs with them

Yeah from what I’ve see, you get one when you rank-up and then you choose what you want to “spend” it on (i.e. tactical package, support package, weapon etc), or you can save it to get more and spend them on something later.

You earn Spartan Points each time you rank up. Weapons, Armor Abilities, and Armor Mods (Tactical Packages and Support Upgrades) all cost Spartan Points.
However, new armor is unlocked by ranked (and commendations/certain goals) and you will not need to use points to buy them.
