I’m only SR8 and have around 7SP to spend. In other games where I get an in game credit to spend I always find I buy the wrong things and waste my credits.
At the moment I have bought nothing and am looking for recommendations for what I should or should not buy to help me the most in most game types.

If you haven’t already, go ahead and buy the DMR/BR weapon. After that I went ahead and unlocked the Promethean Vision AA and the “Ammo” and “Shield” tactical/support packages.
I didn´t use my own loadout till I had all slots filled (I think you are able to do that in level 12)
Think about what you like, and what gamemodes you play and buy accordingly.
For me my general allround setup is:
-DMR (1 Point)
-Magnum (Other weapons cost 2 SP)
-Frag Grenade (Again 2 SP for others)
-Jetpack (2 SP)
-Shields (1 SP)
-Dexterity (2SP)
I believe this is right.
So for 6 SP you can buy a pretty awesome general loadout, and than just mix and match while leveling up.
Want to try another nade? Just spend 2 SP, want to try the BR? Spend 1 SP.
Go ahead and have fun, and don’t worry to much about wrong descisions, I recommend to buy your number 1 prefered loadout right away (the one I described above is available from level SR 12)
And when you got your number 1 choice loadout, you can spend on whatever you feel like trying next.
