I just came back from the euro gamer expo and they gave me a booklet including details about halo 4. As I was reading through I noticed something called spartan ops and stated its something similar to some sort of 4-player firefight/campaign but I’m still not clear of what they mean. Little help please. Thanks.

4 player co op missions taking place after the main campaign tasking you an 3 other Spartan IVs with various missions against the Covies and Prometheans.

It plays like fire fight and is story driven
A seperate campaign involving your spartan and others
So playing it will progress you further within its story which to my opinion would be cool

Well tread over. Spartan Ops is a Co-Op episodic campaign.
Couldn’t of you just looked up this information yourself and not asked a forum? Spartan Ops is only mentioned in like… every credible Gaming Website out there.

Anyways, Spartan OPs is a four player cooperative experience like Firefight or Co-Op Campaign. Unlike Firefight, Spartan Ops is an entirely different experience!
The story of Spartan OPs (yes it has a story) continues after Halo 4’s main Campaign and will be an episodic experience that 343 updates weekly with episodes. The first season is free and comes with the game.
Each episode will advance the story with 5 missions each week. You can tweak the difficulty from easy all the way through to Legendary and you can replay them as much as you like! Not only that, the story of Spartan OPs will have CG cutscenes and dialogue to boot. It’s really a second Campaign when you think about it.
You and three other players can also unlock gear, weapons, armor and other things in Spartan OPs and can use those unlocked items in War Games. Both modes are connected; Whatever you end in one mode, you can use in the other.
