It might be a good idea to increase the XP given to players driving the Warthog in Spartan Ops.
For example, I played a few rounds of Rally Point (EP:4 CH:2) yesterday and drove around other players for the entire match but, rather than the typical reward I’d receive for killing the enemy myself, I wound up with a few hundred XP.
The XP goes back to normal amounts if the gunner or passenger shooting out the side is an AI character.
I enjoy driving around like a mad fool so it isn’t a big deal to me but it may encourage more players to be friendly and take the wheel.
I always drive the warthog and i didn’t have any problems getting xp from the same mission. I was getting about 13,000 xp every round(this is w/ dewxp and the fast track upgrade).
maybe you should go for some more splatters to add some kills to your stats.

ok, so after looking at your service record. you have completed the mission 3 times and only have 5 splatter medals. i think you need to be a little more aggressive and
don’t let your gunner do all the work.i was getting around 10 splatter medals everytime played it, which isn’t too hard with all of the crawlers in this mission. hope that helped.

I had this same problem. First few rounds of it I recieved normal xp but after a few games I was only getting 300 or 400xp
I don’t know about spartyops but I could use some ewheel man spree points in MP if I get someone 30 kills in the gauss hog I should have a ton more points. I mean driving is the hard part.

Good thought.
I was acting as a gun platform rather than going for splatters. I guess it’s a question of style.

Attempting splatter in Halo 4 with the Hog is probably the riskiest move you could do behind that steering wheel. Elites can board you from quite a distance and Jackals and Grunts spam plasma pistol overcharges on Normal and higher. It’s especially pointless against Hunters. Not to mention often you’ll just end up sending enemies flying…

I agree with you about it being risky and not always effective, thus my more conservative approach.
Although there’s no formal reward, I find it more challenging and interesting to stay alive. Perhaps someone I’m driving around feels the same way so I don’t want to ruin it for them either.
If you’re trying to level up your wheelman commendation I recommend Land Grab (E1 Ch1) and using the Gauss Hog on easy. Make sure you kill at least 10 enemies yourself and you’ll get the full 3.5k xp. Assuming you take at least 9 minutes. And any AI passenger kills count as the driver’s kills so that’s why you get more XP.
OP, your problem is that you’re doing it in a private Spartan Ops lobby. If you do Matchmaking, you’ll get tons of experience. I can drive the entire time on Rally Point, get 5-10 kills, and get 6,000 experience (with Fast Track).
i maxed my wheelman commendation on this level. you gotta get at least 6 kills or you wont get very much exp. finished up my covenant destoyer as well on chapter 1…bunch of space grunts on that level

That’s nothing to be proud of. I played 2nd chapter. A friend shot while I drove. I got 186 wheelmans. And there wasn’t even 100 enemies. I mastered it in 4 games.

This is in matchmaking with four players.
Just suggesting that 343 might want to increase XP paid on Wheelman/assists.
