Spartan Ops Victory Lap (bug)

Was playing Victory Lap just now and discovered a bug. Anyone else had an issue with this level?

would the bug be an enemy trapped behind a closed door?

in that case, yes. And it freaking sucks.

Yes. That is the bug I experienced.

I’ve never experienced any bugs on spartan ops yet.

Happened to me once too. Eventually had to just quit out of the match.

Yeah, me too. -Yoink- portal’d behind the door.

Happened twice - deleted the download and downloaded again.

Not sure if that will do anything, but havn’t tried it again yet.

would love a fix for this

Ran it again after re-downloading and it worked. YMMV

Just had this happen in an online Spartan Ops. Pretty funny since it was the first time, but I can imagine it’s annoying after that. There was a knight with a binary rifle and we tried about everything. Grenades, rockets, railguns, I even died and brought in a autosentry. Oh, and somehow he managed to shoot a guy in the face with his binary rifle. Now that was Legendary.

Also Sildroni, re-dling it shouldn’t change anything. I’ve played the mission probably 3-5 times now and its the first time it’s happened. I’m pretty sure it’s just a glitch with the way the Knight teleport works paired with the physics behind the doors. In Reach, there was a glitch where you could use the forklift to pass through a closed one. It was patched, hopefully this one will/can be as well.

Ran into this once. The Knight with a Binary Rifle kept running into the closed door and we could only get a couple shots on it’s sword and eventually we all quit out after randomly firing at the door.

Have run into this glitch more than a couple of times on Victory Lap.

The Knight CAN be killed and the mission completed but it will take some effort and fire power. Don’t bother using any of the guns (DMR, Battle, etc), you will need a turret gun and a rocket launcher - these are the two I used to get out of the jam. Both these weapons can be found in this mission. hopefully you won’t use the rocket launcher on earlier stages.

The tricky part is shooting the orange blade of the Knight, shooting its gun will not work, you will know when you shoot him right when the “sparks” flying off the bullet hits are a bunch of blueish squares, you will also hear the Knight get angry and complain, this is the only exposed part of him that is vulnerable and the only part that can be used to bring his shields down.

After gaining some experience with practice, empty the fully loaded turret gun on the blade, as soon as the gun depletes its ammunition shoot the rocket launcher at the orange glow, if you did the gun thing right the Knight will be dead, the door will open and you can proceed with the mission. The turret gun’s purpose is to deplete the shields and the rocket is one of those weapons with enough energy yield to destroy targets by proximity - even through a door.

The Knight - of course - will not stand still while you shoot it, it tends to sway left and right. Again, learning to shoot it proper for the greatest effect on weakening its shields will TAKE practice. The Knight follows a pattern standing the most time on the left side of the door. Observe, learn it and use it against the foe.

I have done it twice so it is not a fluke. Next chance I get I will try wit Covenant weapons if possible (plasma turret and fuel rod cannon).

Probably the same effect as the turret gun can be obtained if all four players shoot their Assault Rifles into the sweet spot instead of with a turret gun, thing is that many players when they see the Knight trapped like that they just leave the game.
