Spartan Ops update?

So today I was playing Shootout in Valhalla (not matchmaking), and I noticed some strange changes. The Banshees behaved very different than what I got used to, they dodged every single missile I fired, and kept on doing loops and other manoeuvers. The Phantoms also changed: when I played SpOps before, they fired their concussion cannon at a slow fire rate, but continously. Now they were firing in quick bursts: 7-10 bolts at once at a very quick rate, then a few seconds gap and a suppresive burst again. I wonder if anyone else noticed this?

I believe it is because Spartan Ops matchmaking is now on Legendary, not Heroic

> I believe it is because Spartan Ops matchmaking is now on Legendary, not Heroic

As I stated it above, I played it locally, not in matchmaking. And it was Heroic, not Legendary. And when I played this mission on Legendary weeks ago, the Covie aircraft wasn’t behaving like this.

Ahh I missed that. Hmm, that is weird. I haven’t played that particular chapter in a while

Mabe they fixed the AI, I mean the AI is a joke. I don’t see your problem just go play legendary its not that hard.

It isn’t an update. The Phantoms fire at a rapid rate on that level due to you being in the Mantis. They would be useless trying to hit you when you could easily dodge them if they were in their normal projectile velocity.
The Banshees have always weaved, rolled and looped out of the way of my rockets, so I doubt that maneuver was recently added.

kind of off topic but any news on when season 2 will be out?

I don’t have any problem, I was only surprised by the change. I find this a good improvement though. Now every single Banshee is formidable and not just their high number, making the game more challenging.

That’s something I never noticed before. They fired like they always did, and they hit me in the Mantis, as they always did.

Yes, but they did it much more frequently and quickly. When I played this mission before, I used the following tactics against them: when they dived and launched an FRG bomb, I dodged the bomb and fired the chaingun and lauched a missile simultaneously. That basically finished them or even if one escaped, a short burst from the chaingun was enugh to bring it down later. Now this was absoluely useless, they loped in from a random direction, lauched the FRG and rolled away before I could even spot where they came from.

Not all of the Phantoms will fire at higher speeds. The ones dropping off troops will have both rapid and normal firing turrets, while the last battle you fight against the 3 waves of Phantoms and Banshees will all have the rapid turrets.

The Banshees typically roll when dive bombing me with their FRC attack, whilst I counter with my rockets. They are pretty dumb, however, when flying level. It is usually only when they are strafing/bombing me that they will evade my rockets.

Still unconfirmed whether we’ll get a Season 2, let alone when it will arrive.

You may be right and only I’m so blind that didn’t see this stuff before, but I’d swear this mission wasn’t always like it is now. No problems though, I said I like it this way better than before. Much more challenging… at least for me

When I play Shootout on Valhalla, the elites turn really small so all you see is their gun floating in the air shooting me XD
