Spartan Ops too easy...

Me and my friends can easily beat any Spartan Ops level on Legendary, do you guys agree? I think Spartan Ops should have lives like FIrefIght or a spawning system like campaign ( can spawn as long as one person is alive)

I agree it really is easy.

It is only easy when there is no lag.

I would say the need for lives would up the challenge with a scoring system and perhaps skulls thrown into the mix. However, randoms waste lives very quickly and you’ll end up failing missions more than completing them IMO. Of course, playing with friends would make this experience much sweeter.

A checkpoint system works too just like in the Campaign if lives don’t work. If you all die, you get reset to the last checkpoint.

I think that dying is of no consequence as of now but i think players die more often than not. If it was that easy, you shouldn’t be dying. Which, most players do. Including myself.

Ya this is a common compliant for this mode. Unlimited spawns makes the mode pointless. They need to just have a pool of spawns, say 15 for the team and if they use them all up and everybody dies you fail. I mean how boring is it playing a mode you can’t lose at? I mean are we at the point now a days we have to dumb down video games this far just because people with ADD will get to frustrated if they lose?

Agreed, but its still fun and I still like it.

I played the Ep. 1 Ch. 1 by myself on legendary…died 29 times, but it didn’t matter, there was no timer, no lives, no nothing. I have to say AI friendlies in SpartanOps are really really really bad. They drive me into a wall over and over, and once we finally get around the wall, they will park right in front of a turret/tank and sit there, not even trying to dodge, while the enemy AI can dodge shots in vehicles…why isn’t this ai programed into friendlies? Back on topic…There needs to be a punishment for dying, as of right now, there isn’t. This is what made Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 3’s campaigns so easy on Legendary, you can just respawn on top of a friendly. Halo 2 was difficult on legendary due to the fact if one person died, everyone had to restart. There needs to be a Pro Version of Spart Ops that incorporates this. Also, there needs to be a Difficulty setting for finding a random team for Spartan Ops, many of my friends have done the episode on legendary already, several times helping each other, by time the weekend rolled around, no one wanted to help me out as they had burned out on doing those same linear missions over and over and not even being able to skip the intros. The missions themselves are incredibly short though, I was surprised at how short there were, glad I’m not paying extra for them.

That’s nothing, in one of the new ones today, a marine killed me with a shotgun while I was assassinating an elite.

QFT. I love getting the lightest bit of lag and the find myself walking into hunters and random blasts from fuel rod cannons.

On the topic of Spartan Ops being too easy, I find myself gaining far more experience playing on heroic than legendary, regardless of k-d spread or final scores. There’s a difference of nearly 2000exp on average. It seems rather backwards that an easier mode has bigger rewards.

Campaign was excessively easy on Legendary too.

But I do think there should be a life limit.

Each player should start with, say, 5-10 lives (give or take). If you run out of your own 5-10 lives, you “lose” and are taken out of the match. Only the players that complete the whole mission are awarded for completion.

Betrayals should take away from your own lives, and not the lives of the person you betrayed btw. For the sake of balance.

I can agree with that statement. There’s really nothing to lose in Spartan Ops. If they threw in some skulls and a limited pool of lives, then it could be a bit of a challenged.

You can try solo-ing it but it’s really not that fun compared to having another person play with you.

I tried it for the first time two days ago and we finished the mission, The Cauldron in about 5 minutes compared to 11 minutes solo, and it was fairly effortless.

The missions are also short, which does make it more apparent that it’s easy. I don’t mind that much though because I treat Spartan Ops like soda, it’s good but have too much and you’ll be in big trouble. If you’re the type who likes to play cooperatively that’s not not limited to Campaign and or multiplayer, then yeah it can be a problem

As for lag, the worst I got was a really small delay; it’s not too much of a bother but you can feel it.

Eh, it’s fun enough as it is. Doesn’t need any changes.

Seeing as it’s literally impossible to lose, I’d have to agree.

Although it does help make the lag more tolerable.

It would be easy if my bullets actually show when I pulled the trigger. Instead I’m rocking a solid 1 second delay.

Can’t the same thing be said about campaign? Everytime you hit a checkpoint it is a license to die without penalty. So therefore by logic I guess campaign on legendary is extremely easy too. Maybe we should need to complete the level without dying or be forced to restart the entire level. /sarcasm. Get over it and have fun!

-off topic- as mentioned above - the bigger issue is the lack of intelligence of friendly AI Spartan teammates.

it doesnt need to change at all. It already is too much like ODST. We dont need anymore change, so stop asking. It was made easy so it would be fun to a large population, if its to hard no one wants to play it.

I found it rather difficult solo on legendary. But when there are 2 people, it becomes exponentially easier. I would not be surprised if they get more difficult as the seasons progress, though.

I have to disagree. I play it solo.

I’m a legendary veteran, so I know how to deal with the covies on the highest difficulty, and I had trouble with the chapters of episode 2 on legendary.

I might agree with you if the spawning system were changed to be more like Reach Firefight where you could pick from a predetermined set of spawns, because I grew extremely frustrated with being spawned in the middle of 8 elites on legendary and getting blasted to hell by fuel rods before I can even sprint to safety.[/runonsentance]

And how easy the noob combo makes it is irrelevant. That’s no fun.

I’m sure it will. Episode 2 was noticeably more difficult than episode 1.

It’s easy because it’s literally impossible to lose.
