Spartan ops starter load outs

So i was wondering Madsen from majestic rocks a sniper rifle and Hoya the shotgun. Well i understand why you cant start of with one in matchmaking got it, but how about making those two weapons basic loadout starter weapons for spartan ops only i would love to start the round off with the sniper rifle and too balance it out i guess mabey only allow that weapon as primary and not allow the firepower perk to be used basicaly you would only get the sniper rifle and a secondary, or whatever. My point is i hope 343 considers this an option yea mabey everyone will start off with the sniper rifle or the shotgun but whatever. some people may not i mean in some missions you can run and grab one off the bat why not just skip that all together and add those two weapons on the loadout options for spartan ops.

Because you use the exact same loadouts in matchmaking too. If you have LE then you can see it in Thorne’s book, nearly all of the UNSC weapons are can be requested before the mission as well as AAs TPs and SUs. I’m sure 343 have a good reason why they don’t let us to start with anything. Otherwise, in the LE handbook there are no words about Covenant or Forerunner technology so canonically you won’t be able to bring non UNSC equipment.

It’s because Palmer has the hots for Thorn and alows his team use better equipment.

This is also why Majestic gets all the camera time.

Blame Palmer.

Well there is at least one campaign mission in every halo game that you get to start out with a sniper rifle but not a shotgun though.

Let me fix you, Halo 3 Cortana level actually starts with a shotgun. If you meant at least every Halo, they please forgive me. :slight_smile:

Halo CE - Two Betrayals. Shotgun and PP as starting weapons.

I always wondered the same thing. I would have the DMR as the primary but i wish i started with the sniper as the secondary.

@MissingSpartan7

Two Betrayals wasn’t the only one. Remember you start with the Sniper Rifle in Truth & Reconciliation.

i know you use the exact same loadouts in matchmaking my reasoning here is make a loadout that can only be used in spartan ops and spartan ops alone basicaly when you play matchmaking that loadout will be un available but if you go to spartan ops the loadout is available for full use. im sure its not hard to do probably just some code writing and update to the game and wahboom instant sniper rifle in spartan ops in loadout. i mean why not its not like it will make the game less enjoyable. if you dont like the idea well just dont choose the sniper rifle as a starter weapon.

ok yea i get that but im just talking about spartan ops i know 343 can figure out a way to make that loadout type only available in spartan ops so people dont go sniper rifle crazy in matchmaking. like i said in latest post it can be a loadout only available in spartan ops if you go to matchmaking and try and pick this loadout it will be unavailable. just makes the spartan ops side seem more like a realistic thing say you play with friends and you have a team set up one guy rolls with the snie one with a shotgun one with a dmr and one with a br. just saying its not a bad idea really 343 should consider this.

Sniper? No, just no. It’s just unsuitable for these battles, breaks the flow of combat.

Shotgun? Hell yeah.

Nope. Matchmaking and Spartan Ops are uses the same loadouts because War Games also canonical. You would run with your preferences at the training, and you use the same equipment on the field too. Otherwise your training worth nothing. Having ordinance drops and placed weapons in Matchmaking is like finding or requesting them in Spartan Ops. The image you imagine about team play is nice but to be honest everyone would run with snipers all the way. Why put yourself in a danger by getting close to the enemy rather than take 'em out 3 mikes away? Spartan Ops like any game modes is need to be balanced and the missions are designed to use the basic starting weapon palette. Finding somewhat powerful is also always rewarding, it’s value is far more bigger if you have to fight for it rather than having it immediately. At last but not least, every loadout weapon is powerful in this game. You just have to use them properly.

i see your point still would be awesome for me personaly to have the sniper off the bat but its up to 343.Guess its BR and a pistol set up for me then.
