Spartan Ops size

Before I even start, I want to be up-front and state that this is in no way a complaint. More so, just a suggestion/wish of sorts. So, there’s a lot of Spartan IV’s right? Like a lot. And missions to recover Forerunner artifacts, and take out high-priority targets are very important, right? So why is it that with these high-risk, high value missions, only a maximum of 4 Spartans can be deployed? Wouldn’t it be more practical to send in at least a maximum of 5? Possibly as many as 8? This is a two-pronged issue/request.

Canon-wise, it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense for Infinity to hinder itself by sending so few to do so much, even though that’s what Spartans are all about. And gameplay-wise, the more the merrier, right? More seriously though, the 4-player cap on co-op has been around for the better part of a decade now, and I think some people (myself included) are starting to wish we could add a bigger head-count to our cooperative experiences.

I am fully aware that season 1 of Spartan Ops is likely already finished and ready, and doesn’t have room to be changed, so my request is simply, that in a future season, episode, hell, even chapter of Spartan Ops, we expand the total player capacity beyond 4, ideally to 8. I know it’s probably not nearly as easy to do as it is to say, but I think it would be a really interesting, refreshing, and welcome change to the traditional way of doing co-op.

I don’t expect to be heard, or even to have my concern/request backed by anyone else, I just think it would be cool and a good idea. If you like this idea, by all means let your voice be heard and back me on this. If you don’t care or you don’t think it’s a good idea, let my words fall silent amongst all the ‘Halo is dead,’ ‘343 ruined halo,’ ‘DMR is OP,’ & ‘Halo 4 is 4 n00bz’ complaint threads swamping this forum with unwarranted negativity.

I’m imagining the lag, the horror, oh no…
Doesn’t really matter to me though, I rather play in small groups, unless the missions and maps are huge and there are hundreds of Covies, Prometheans and vehicles to fight.

That’s kind of what I’m saying. Episode 3 gave players a nice taste of what it might be like to be in a much larger scale of battle than we are used to with Chapters 1 and 4. My proposition is simply that they take that a step even further, and add an appropriate player cap to compliment it in future seasons of Spartan Ops.
