Spartan Ops should go to Installation 03

I’m feeling that in the next season of Spops, there should be a drastic change of environment. Remember how the UNSC has discovered Installation 03 and you go to an orbital research facility in campaign? Well, I think it would be a very interesting turn of events and a whole new narrative to follow Jul’s forces to Gamma Halo. Think about it: a brand new skybox and a distinct difference from campaign since it’s on a different world and with different workings and mysteries to uncover.

That is, if it isn’t in Halo 5…

I would assume the UNSC would have a stronghold on Installation 03, therefore it would be unwise for Mdama to attack it.

I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t leave a super weapon capable of destroying all life in the galaxy unguarded.

Ah, true. I guess it would be hard to justify Jul’s forces being able to bypass the UNSC’s and the ring’s defenses. No doubt the UNSC would have set up orbital superMACs.

My only issue with this is that the UNSC has been there for a while.

In Glasslands, Dr Halsey is taken there after being rescued from the Dyson Sphere in early 2553, just after (or just before, I cant remember) the memorial service held at Voi in Halo 3.

I like my Halos served with a side order of mystery and intrigue, I03 has been bled dry. They found the Composer and the Index.

I would like to see Spops go to a Halo though, maybe I01?

Jul attacked the Infinity within it’s walls. It wouldn’t be hard to think he’s do the same with Installation 03.

Looks like Jul may be a major enemy for a while, unless he bites it in SpOps ep10.

I would like to see SpOps continue for a LONG time. I’d love to see missions of some of the Covie homeworlds. Imagine traveling to the grunt’s homeworld and facing off against hundreds of those little suckers? Or how about Jackals?

How about a hunter mission where we infiltrate a hunter armor manufacturing plant? We’d get to see the worms in various stages. Hmm, maybe a scarab or harvester too!

There is SO much potential for SpOps. If it ends at only one season, I’m going to be one sad Halo fan… :frowning:

With the Jenus key being unveiled in Episode 9, I expect we’ll be seeing a lot more of the remaining Halo rings in future Spartan Ops episodes, maybe not Installation 03, but other unexplored Installations (01, 02, 06 and 07) would be a possibility.

I hope that we are in MC’s shoes the next time we look up and around to see the land that we are standing on. Installation 07 would be good for Halo 5 because of its dark ties.

Requiem is just getting really old. It’s starting to feel like “home” rather than a mysterious environment. The main reason I’d want it on Installation 03 is so there could be a distinct setting difference from campaign. When you have Spops set on Requiem, it seems like just a different perspective of the same battle. But when you have it take place in an entirely different, but equally relevant location, it feels much more like a side-story.

I would absolutely love that. I think it was a pretty classy move to avoid another ring landing in the campaign but for SOPS season 2 it could allow 343 to open up so much on the expanding forerunner universe and connect it back to the previous trilogy in a very immediate way.

Without the index for that ring its not like they can activate it. The index was in that base that the didact attacked but 6 months later they would have control again.

There is also the possibility that several dozen Covenant Cruisers armed to the teeth with Seraphs, Banshees and Liches can take out almost anything the UNSC have, heck, they took Reach and that was where almost all the UNSC’s armed forces were trained.

I would prefer it if new seasons would follow different events, rather than exclusively jul.

Imagine if they had a spin-off season that worked like Halo 3: ODST, where you’d play as a different character, during a different event.

Except as we’ve seen in Spartan Ops, UNSC no longer know how to manage their facilities.

They leave maybe 1 or 2 marines to defend their precious facilities and are constantly losing their bases.

That’s because Jul made a lot of sacrifices. He wanted UNSC to take Didact’s Gift for the boarding.

I doubt Jul is going to be so reckless again. Maybe just for gameplay reasons.

Give me Sanghelios. Give me The Arbiter stabbing Jul through the eye.

Give me friendly Elites.

that would be fun. it would give an excuse to have flood back because of the samples they have

Well, now that Requiem’s destroyed, I think that if Spartan Ops is going to continue at all it would be set on some other Forerunner installation. Why not Installation 03? It was in campaign already so it wouldn’t be a huge jump. And I didn’t feel like the campaign gave it much justice.

I think it may be on earth. But, Jul, and the UNSC both need the other half of the key. Maybe there will be another battle on earth in New Phoenix.

I like the sound of this.
