Here is a trailer for the second half of season one.
There’s a few cool things in there.
-Thorne went down swinging it seems
-Infinity gets boarded as predicted and Palmer leads the defense
-Jul gets what he was looking for?
-New architecture. Flood? Precurser? Who knows.
OMG! Dual weilding is coming back, Whoooooooooo!!!
> OMG! Dual weilding is coming back, Whoooooooooo!!!
I wouldn’t hold my breath.
Dual wielding(finally!) and new maps yeah, Spartan Ops is getting better and better.
(is that a scarab or covenant structure I saw in the trailer?
Looks like the theory I proposed to MoaHerder about Thorne fighting back was correct.

Imagine being able to dual-wield the Boltshot…
shudders

To me that seems like new architecture. It looks like a mix of Covenant and Flood to me. Maybe Precursers. Either way the story is progressing nicely.

Yeah but imagine having dual magnums! Anyway, it doesn’t matter. Dual wielding isn’t something they can add and even of they could they wouldn’t.
Got so stoked, was not expecting this to be shown at the VGA’s.
That odd structure really has me interested.
The second half can’t come quickly enough.
Am I the only one who noted that the frigate on the right during that brief space battle scene had shields?
+1 for UNSC tech!

I’m pretty sure that the space battle was from Ep. 1. Anyway, yeah the UNSC ships have been upgraded and stand a fighting chance against the Covenant finally.
Even though it’s not particularly clear if the scene where Palmer is fighting on board the Infinity it makes me wonder (if it is indeed the Infinity) if the Artifact is really a two way teleporter. Jul clearly wanted both the artifact and the Promethean soul captured. Perhaps he’s just biding his time trying to get whatever he can out of his snooping before deciding to send troops through it.
Even in a combat situation… PALMER STILL DOES NOT HAVE HER HELMET ON!.
If she does not want to end up like Kat, then she should suit up.

It’s probably because 343i think if we can’t physically see her face we won’t know who she is. Although I don’t mind because Palmer wears Scout armour and that helmet is ugly.
Also, keep in mind she may have been caught off guard and grabbing her helmet was less important than returning fire at that particular moment.
> If she does not want to end up like Kat, then she should suit up.
And look where suiting up got Kat. Maybe Palmer is safer without the helmet.
I’m liking that Jul 'Mdama is actually a decent villan, smart and thoughtful. Much better than the usual cut-outs we normally get.

343’s idea of the average consumer: “DURR, WHO IS THIS RANDOM SPARTAN WEARING PALMER’S ARMOR AND WHO SOUNDS JUST LIKE HER? WHER IZ MISTER CHEF?”

Though it seems that what the UNSC has gain in naval defenses, they have lost in Infantry protection.
Seriously, for some reason, the Marines have traded in their armor plating and fatigues for a Kevlar vest and a custodian’s jumpsuit.

Yeah that scene at 35 seconds has me interested too- I don’t think Precursor or Flood but- I think Promethean- the way the apparent face and shoulders span out sideways. I find the Promethean’s have a fusion of human and insectoid qualities with the upper body and such- perhaps we are looking into the organic origins of the creatures that went on to form the basis for Promethean design?
> I’m liking that Jul 'Mdama is actually a decent villan, smart and thoughtful. Much better than the usual cut-outs we normally get.
Agreed. He also adds depth to the Covenant. Without a leader they would have no real connection to the story and only serve as cannon fodder. This is also why they need to bring the Arbiter or Rtas 'Vadum into the story. They need to make it clear that these guys are in fact a rogue faction and that the truce Humanity has with the Covenant is real. This will help those who didn’t read the books understand why we fight Covenant.
> -Thorne went down swinging it seems
Went down? Looks more like Thorne fought his way out of a bad situation. 1 elite left on screen getting a sword run through him by Thorne is not a Spartan goign down, it’s a Spartan cleaning out his LZ.
I am curious to see what that detonator-looking thing 'Mdama has is for. Big explosions are usually a good thing, even when they’re a bad thing.
> I am curious to see what that detonator-looking thing 'Mdama has is for. Big explosions are usually a good thing, even when they’re a bad thing.
He’s probably going to detonate those explosives on Glassman’s vest, considering they have no need for him now. Still, it’s a bit odd seeing Elites strap BOMBS onto a prisoner half their size. You’d think that simply running the man through with an Energy Sword would suffice, but I guess 343 has got to make it seem more wild than that.
