We all know Season One will end on a major cliff hanger. The continuation of which will either be the start of Halo 5 (unlikely) or Spartan Ops: Season Two (most likely).
Now, the Xbox 720 will launch in the fall assuming no production issues. There just aren’t any major games scheduled for fall of 2013 which is incredibly unusual.
Now, having said all that, how would you feel if Microsoft only offered Season 2 for Xbox 720 players?
Meaning, you have Halo 4 and the “new” Spartan Ops: Season 2 is only going to be released for play on the 720. Odds are I’ll buy a 720 regardless but realized that Microsoft may try to give others an incentive to upgrade. The likelihood of a Halo 5 launch is nigh impossible. However, they could swing other ways to entice folks, Season 2 being one way.
I will say that for me Spartan Ops has been less of a TV show and more of a way to goof off and quickly unlock all the perks. It’s no firefight that’s for sure. The best thing they could do is to hire a script writer from the series 24. That would actually get people hooked.

It really isn’t that unusual for us to not know about major games yet, especially with the next generation of consoles coming up.
Yes, the number of big titles (GTA IV and the inevitable COD #1945 as exceptions) its unusual but thats only due to the next generation approaching.
And I doubt SO-S2 will be a “720” exclusive. They just can’t do that. If anything, MS would be smart to make Season 2 longer, better and more structured like a solid spin off campaign and offer it as a cheap (but still AAA) expansion pack for H4 to those who don’t want to hop on board of the next generation already.
Although I sincerely hope we don’t have to wait till fall to play the second season…
Season 2 from Easter at longest I hope although on further reading I am not sure if we will get Season 2.
I really hope we get much more seasons and the story continues. I am well passed my rampancy now and require to watch future Halo lore without killing anything
When is E3 ? I heard -Yoink!- is revealing the release date for the new xbox then. Some youtubers say it might be out for sale now in June, doubt that though.

I don’t think so, like OP said, we all know it’s gonna be a major cliff hanger. So if they planned this, they probably have a good portion of Spartan Ops Season 2 planned out and started. I would think Spartan Ops Season 2 would be out probably early/mid summer, but hey… if they make it so we don’t have to press all of those buttons, I’ll be OK with waiting until the Fall to play it.
