Spartan Ops Season 2 Community Page

Introduction
Ok so basically i had the idea to create a thread dedicated to what the community wants from season 2 of spartan ops so that 343 can look to us for ideas. So on this thread post any comments involving the strengths and weaknesses of season 1 or any questions involving season 2 or any ideas you have for it.

Possible Questions?

Will it follow Fireteam Crimson or Majestic?
if not
Who will it follow?
Will it be set on Requiem?
Will we see any new characters or returning characters?
Do you have any ideas for the story of Spartan Ops season 2?
How much will it cost?
or
How much will you be willing to pay?

Conclusion
So i’m sure you have plenty of questions to put to everybody else regarding the next season of Spartan Ops and also any ideas you have for the future of Spartan Ops. So just please post on this thread and let 343 know what the community wants from spartan ops.

Thanks.

I’m pretty sure there won’t be a season 2 and if there is then it’s already in its final stages.

This. In recent interviews, they have no plans on a Season 2 yet*.

*means it’s not going to happen, just like Campaign and Spartan Ops in Theatre.

Could you provide a link to where they said that please?

I think more involvement with the Story that’s going on with the CGI would be nice (How about seeing Miller, Daulton, and/or Murphy in the CGI?). When in the missions, we have little to do with Jul, Halsey, and Librarian (more so in Episodes 4 and 9, but overall, not much).

More animations. I really liked what they did with the beginning of Chapter 1 in Episode 6. I thought this was something that would become more frequent with the last few Episodes of Season 1, but so far, it’s been the only one (I don’t the end of Chapter 5 of Episode 5 counts).

I’m like the beginning cutscenes of the recent Episodes. Keep finding different ways to kill the Grunts.

More Prometheans to kill. I know majority of this Season has been about the Covenant, but it seems that the brand new enemy faction that 343i has created has had little to do with Spartan Ops (There was one Episode where not one single Promethean was to be found). Though they have been more frequent lately.

The hidden areas that you couldn’t see in earlier missions is really nice. Episode 9 had two brand new areas (one of which felt very Campaign-like) in one area that we’ve been to a few times already. Very nice! Keep doing that!

Is it too early to ask for the Flood?

Wait, you mean to tell me they won’t take my money that I will gladly offer to them? Well, that’s a first.

Also, in recent interviews, they’ve said that Spartan Ops has been a great success, that many people like it.

I really want a Season 2. I’ll be very disappointed, and shocked, if there isn’t one.

Yeah they were gonna make a second season based on the feedback from all of us but everyone keeps on bashing Spartan Ops and complaining about how firefight was better?? Im confused by this… why not combine firefight with story aspects? thats what Spartan Ops did. I for one loved Spartan Ops and can’t wait for the season finale.

Its hard to say what i would want from the second season since the first hasn’t ended yet but one thing I and I’m pretty sure Everyone would appreciate seeing Chief and Blue Team come in and take over all Spartan Operations and we listen to Kelly or Fred giving us orders instead of -Yoink- -Yoink- Palmer and Miller(actually i kinda like Miller but Palmer has to go)

Anyway i don’t see why they wouldn’t make a second season considering how well the second half of season 1 was and still is. I hope people will stop bashing Spartan Ops because it is a great way to build on the story and expanded universe and also incorporate the player through the missions.

I get why people like firefight but whats wrong with firefight with a little background story?

I think Season 2 would be an awesome idea and i would pay for it in a second.

Keep it up 343i

There’s always room for improvements, especially for something like Spartan Ops.
Better transitioning between each chapter and each episode would be a huge improvement. Longer cinematics, in-game cutscenes, better dialogue in the missions, etc… All these would really help the flow between each episode and each chapter.
More varied gameplay. The bulk of season 1 has been us on foot progressing through an environment taking on enemies and pressing buttons. Have us fly Broadswords and Pelicans, bring the Covenant Harvester and Lich into the encounters.

You’d be more shocked to see yourself paying for recycled maps.

Really? I thought that was what this Fanbase loved doing, with all the requests for old map remakes (Ahem recycling) on each Halo game tha thas come out since H2.

I think that 343 needs to make certain promises to the community before season 2 is made if it does happen, by taking into account our feedback on season 1 such as more interactive gameplay with other characters and less use of recycled maps.

My friends and I have a lot of fun in Spartan Ops (especially chapters 6 and up).
I truly hope Spartan Ops continues with a second season.

Unless I completely miss my guess, I highly suspect that Spartan Ops season 2 & continuing will actually be a fifty nine dollar game in and of itself.

343 knew what they were doing when they excluded Sp OPs from offline play. So with that in mind, I look for them to release a companion disk complete with Sp ops season 1 along with 2 etc Possibly with new armor, specializations and weapons for those who own Halo 4.

When you are in the bussiness of making, and selling games. What better way is their to step up sales than with a following of loyal Halo fans all itching to ¨continue the fight.¨

Of course I could be wrong.

They also had no plans for Halo 3, Halo 2 PC, Halo Reach, Halo 4, etc. Having no plans means nothing you blarging shpadiplenookip.

All those saying they don’t want recycled maps, do you realize you would have to wait over a year for Season 2? They aren’t just magically generated, they take time and money to create. You’re like children in your ignorance. Sure, they could do it, but it would take an extreme amount of time compared to the first season, as well as drastically raising the price. Do any of you think before you act? This is why America’s debt is so large. People are idiots.

I’ve enjoyed Spartan Ops, it’s fun to get three of my friends together for some beers and do a LAN game with it, very fun stuff guys. The season definitely got better as it went on. I enjoyed the level design and the variety of encounters there where. Going back to the same levels in the second half of the season felt a lot fresher then the first half, sometimes they even felt like all new levels. Good job 343.

There are a couple more things that I would like to see though.

  • Storm Covenant using more weapon types

It was neat to see them using Promethean weapons in the second half of the season, but what about USNC gear? They’ve captured lots of gear it seems, and in the novels they do use UNSC stuff, especially the Jackals. It would fit with the cannon to see some units equipped with some of these weapons. Heck, and because they are a splinter faction of Covenant, you would expect them to be using whatever older weapons they would have around, like Plasma Rifles, Brute Plasma Rifles, Plasma Repeater, Needle Rifle etc… (even older versions of the Beam rifle etc…, even if they are just remodeled versions of current weapons). Would make them look a little more ragtag then they appear to be. Especially since they got their butts kicked on Requiem.

  • More enemy varieties

I’ve only read the first novel in the Kilo-Five trilogy so far, but there were Brutes with Jul 'Mdama. They would make a nice return, some hybrid of the Reach and Halo 3 versions would be nice. Unarmored variants, shielded variants and the tough heavy shielded guys from Reach. Unless I need to keep reading on, they exist. I’d even like to see some Hunters equipped with different guns, they seem to be the only unit not to get a different configuration. They are a colony of worms, they could become whatever you wanted.

And the Prometheans, while I like them, there is little variety and strategy to fighting them. A couple more units in the mix to shake things up next round.

Even a couple new enemy types to shake things up, how about Jackals and Grunts in some sort of smaller copy/Covenant version of the Mantis? And another fight with a Scarab?

  • More vehicle levels

“Out the other” and “Shootout in Valhalla” are two of my favorite levels. Lets see a few more of these pop up next time.

Overall, Spartan Ops were pretty cool guys, good job again 343.

> Will it be set on Requiem?

Haha! -Yoink- no!

Would definitely like to see some fighting on Human controlled worlds. I’d like to see some more change in scenery.

Season 2 will likely be in Halo 5. Looking back, a whole season of Spartan Ops is A LOT of work. Hell, they only had half a season finished when Halo 4 came out. If they do make season 2 for Halo 4, then it will likely be later on in Halo 4’s lifecycle.

Well now that…

Requiem has been engulfed by its sun and subsequently destroyed its sun, it seems likely that if Season 2 were to happen, we’d be on a world not controlled by Prometheans.I do really hope that season 2 is in the works, though. I really enjoyed the Spartan Ops experience. When it first came out, I was kinda indifferent about it and thought “Meh, this is boring.” But the story REALLY kicked up and ended on a major cliffhanger. It’s definitely kept me excited from week to week and was one of those things where once I finished the last chapter of an episode, I just wanted to continue the story and keep going.

Here’s to hopes of season 2!

Makes me wonder…

Are there any prometheans left at all?
