One of, if the only thing, I loved about Spops 1 was that your Spartan was a part of “Fireteam Crimson”.
343i said that halo 4 wouldn’t be the last time we heard about Crimson.
So would you like to see a Season 2.0? Obviously it would need to be written better than Spops 1. Maybe even having character choice involved? Like we would be dispatched to a known guardian and be tasked with protecting it or using it. Maybe even getting Halsey to Blue team and then defending them while they make an escape? Idk…kinda generic.
I just wanted to know what the Halo Waypoint community thought about the implementation of it. It would be pretty cool in my opinion. Just want to see a better story in it.
when come to tell a story in the universe it has to be in a way that it not a cut and paste in the timeline of universe and to make a s 2 of spartan op it that if 343 go to make it it has to made in a way that tie in to the halo 5 story
The problem I had with Spartan Ops was
- Death Ment nothing.
- The constant reuse of Campaign Maps and only small parts of them
3)The constant Reuse of the Same maps. “Like seriously, didn’t we just clear this area. Is the Infinity truly so bogged down that it wasn’t able to send a occupation force to secure a key location to prevent it from falling into enemy hands… over and over?”
- No epic Halo Scale battles. The Infinity was here in full force. With a full invasion force. Could we have a epic Tip of the Spear moment with the UNSC Military and Spartans all over the place with a full all out battlefield against a Covenant/ Promethean base?
- Lag. Horrible lag. Nowhere near Halo Reach firefight scale. But it got bad.
Things I loved.
- How I actually felt the Spartan was “ME” more then the Rookie and Noble-6 did. They had A back story to them. The Crimson Soldier was a pure blank slate and we played him/her both in Wargames and Spartan Ops.
We truly created their story. Being either a Spartan - III or IV or, if you really want to stretch it, a II. That spartan was ours to create a story for and many of us did. Truly felt I was creating a legend with Crimson team then I ever did with the Guardian from Bungie’s “Become Legend” Destiny.
Some of the Fan Made backstorys some people made for their Crimson member in the Forums during that time were extremely impressive. People and RPers really got into it. 343I truly found a winning formula to make it feel like we were that spartan and we were making our own story with Spartan Ops.
And that’s one reason I loved it so much. And why I hoped for a season 2 dearly.
probably won’t be, since the population was never high & the story got continued with the escalation comics.
