Spartan Ops Respawning

How do you guys feel about the spartan ops respawning vs classic campaign respawning system?

I think that unlimited respawning in the centre of a mass of enemies with OHK weapons (higher difficulties) was a novel idea for the Halo franchise that probably shouldn’t be repeated.

(Not slating SPOPS in general, I enjoy (many) of the missions playing solo on Normal/Heroic for a bit of a warm up or a no pressure R&R from MM)

It would have been impossible to implement the campaign style respawn to a set checkpoint because of the presence of other players when in online games.

Co-op campaign does it afaik.

I do a game or two as a warm-up and to slowly grind on the Commendations {ugh!}

As you mentioned - life is great up until you die for the first time. Then the Elites/Knights all bunch together and swarm en masse with One-shot weapons… and don’t forget the Knights can teleport AND have a one-hit melee as well. At that point, I am forced to try and 'nade/blast away until I can get the numbers down to a reasonable number. It would be nice to the enemies to spread out a little when you respawn. Then maybe I could regroup/pick off a few on the edges instead of dealing with the swarm…
