So, it’s pretty obvious that Roland is going to go rampant. With his dramatically increased “snarky personality” and his growing ego, I think that, by the end of this, we will be dealing with a completely rampant AI in control of Infinity.
Who else sees this as an inevitability?

I don’t think he’s that old yet he was the last thing put on Infinity. Although Halsey’s tinkering and the forerunner information could be decreasing his life span

I haven’t noticed that at all. That’s just his personality, not rampancy.

AI’s don’t really have personality in the halo universe. Even Cortana’s “personality” was from her rampancy. Her personality in the older games usually came after being exposed to or inserted into larger networks and more information.
Also, if you think back to how he was in the start of the game, and really everything prior to Halsey’s “little trick,” he was always straight forward and respectful.
As the episodes have continued, he has gotten more arrogant and more insulting, which corresponds with AI’s rampancy, as laid out in the Halo novels. Most of the time, rampancy was not an issue of sadness/depression like Cortana’s was in this game. It’s usually out of arrogance.
