Spartan Ops player colors ?

So this may sound like a silly question but I have googled the crap out of this already and scoured the forums for this info but have yet to discover the correct search criteria to answer this.

My question is, at the beginning of a Spartan Ops “find game match”, players will have the various colors purple, white, blue or red next the player name. What exactly do they signify ?

Could just be that player’s Primary Color.

It could be signifying the TEAM yer on. Since stats are recorded for each Spartan separately. I’ll have to look for this tonight

Damien you were correct. I played a few missions, changing my primary color and keeping an eye on the other players primaries as well. Over 3 games, each color matched the player. Guess it was so simple that i overlooked the obvious. Thank you.
