Spec-Ops is a 2-player co-op mode w/o no storyline and uses recycled content from the campaign. Oh, and it charges players for new missions.
Spartan-Ops is a 4-player co-op mode w/ a connecting storyline between missions, new content not recycled from campaign, and it’s free over the course of an entire season of content.
How exactly are they similar other than the names and the fact that they are co-op modes?

Spartan Ops is very different Spec-Ops. Considering that Spartans ops is a story based co-op missions that are free of charge. Learn your facts.
If any thing, I believe they got their idea from STO’s feature episodes, not COD.

First of all, CoD wasn’t the first to do any of those. There was this little game called Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory that had a story-based co-op mode that is more along the lines of Spartan-Ops than Spec-Ops is.
Also, XP was in Halo 3.
no matter what game it came from there are still to many connections to make any of this stuff new ideas. from reach to halo 4 the halo franchise has been getting closer to being like cod while taking ideas from other games in the process.

Agreed, Unlike what you may believe shadowspawner, Features like those are not original to COD. 343i may of gotten those ideas from other games like splinter cell, STO, or some other game that has such features.

Nothing in Halo was Original. From the get go, Halo copied ideas from other sources, like the Halo Ring, copied from the Ring World novel, there’s also elements taken from the Alien movies, and the list goes on.

you can bring this back to pong if you want, but either way 343 even though they mean well still can’t stand straight and have a long way to go if they want to be like bungie even if 343 hires them they still are making to big of an entrence
look guys relax here I still am happy for halo 4 and I know that everything from halo is taken I just wanted to post a simple thought I know that alot of you don’t agree with me I just think along with alot of other halo fans that cod has probably had a big influence on halo always have always will. I’m not trying to tick people off.

Seriously why isn’t this thread locked its been discussed tons since Spartans Ops was first unveiled and it is always the same guy who doesn’t get his facts strait just to make a comment on how Halo is turning into COD when anything new is put in Halo.

Believe it or not, COD has never had a big influence, just because some features that are in both games, doesn’t mean COD is or was the main influence. There are other games in the field. There is more than just COD in the gaming world, you have many games in the FPS, RTS, RPG, TPS, Fighting, and sim genres.

okay but you should really know that the fight between cod and halo has caused alot of merges in ideas look at the names of the next few cod games and you will know what I mean.
