Many people like ff over so and vice versa. It was basically a contest of fun over story. (I liked the story) explain why you hate spartan ops or firefight and like the other.
I thought the idea of SpOps was a good one for Halo, and that becomes evident in the second half of the first season in H4. I think the problem was that not enough resources were dedicated to the initial few episodes, so they are not nearly as memorable or enjoyable as the ones that were released later. But, people lost interest by then and 343i had to scrap plans for a second season.
More than a few people have wanted SpOps to make a return, so maybe we’ll get something similar with Infinite considering 343i has laid out a 10-year plan for the game. I don’t think it’s a replacement for FF because the purity of wave-based combat cannot be replaced by a gameplay-focused side story. But SpOps was as close to a campaign/FF hybrid as you can get, and an enjoyable one at that.
Firefight all day.
Firefight all day. Spartan OPs is the most boring and repetitive addition to a Halo game. “Crimson do this, Crimson do that, Crimson do this again, Crimson do that again, marking the last few targets for you now Crimson, oh wait there’s more Crimson”. Bleh.
They both seem equally good to me. Although I only play ff because of the challenges and since I completed all the spartan ops I have not played again …
Spartan Ops was more fun.
I still like playing Firefight in the Halo Master Chief Collection. It was a lot of fun. I also like playing Spartan Ops in Halo 4.
If I had to choose between them it’s Firefight every time, but I also really don’t see them filling the same role at all.
Spartan Ops was a first attempt at an expanded episodic as a service DLC campaign and I’d absolutely welcome more content delivery like that
Reach Firefight. Hands down.
But spartan ops was entertaining for a couple weeks.
I personaly hate spartan ops there was barely a story in the missions itself it was just go there press thaat button shoot a ton of enemies and that it and that for 50 missions long it was really a drag to complete that in legendary, Firefight is very simple and just for fun.
Spartan Ops
Sorry for the unpopular opinion but there you go
Firefight…You had way more ways of being creative on killing enemys and it’s just pure chaos sometimes.
Each have their merits. Sure Spartan-Ops failed here and there, but there was some quality to a few waves of enemies with an objective.
I think objectively Firefight takes the cake, but Spartan Ops isn’t bad. Spartan Ops in my opinion would be a lot more intresting if it took a few more risks, and had more love put into it. It kinda got a little to repetitive at times.
I honestly hope that in the future of the series we get to see both side by side.
Firefight hands down.
Firefight is better as you don’t need memberships to play them while spops needs gold membership which I cannot afford for a long time. Also spops is a lot broken as you just need to play that mission more than 8:30 minutes with min. of 5 kills to get 13000 xp. But firefight is exciting as you have limited lives and every mistake punishes you while you can respawn infinitely in spartan ops.
Note: these are my views, I am not blaming 343 or halo 4 . H4 is still my favourite according to story
