It is apalling the amount of time and effort that goes into something that is not played a whole lot and yet what people want for matchmaking is simply ignored by all but 5 people in the company. I understand those 5 have the biggest pull in matchmaking but it seems like the rest of office and the people in command at 343 would rather not listen to them to make all the changes necessary. Instead they focus on an extended campaign that serves no purpose.
I think you’ll find that a lot of people play it. Just because you don’t doesn’t mean it needs to go.
Spartan Ops isn’t even active right now. The Season is over, so basically you’re complaining about nothing.
So things that people don’t play a lot need to go, eh? I’ve seen lobbies for Spops with higher populations than some War Games playlists. As I type this, ‘Clean Up’ has 91 players, Team Objective has 63 (granted, it’s 0635 here). Does that mean Team Objective deserves the boot too?

Team Objective has a population in the thousands during normal daytime hours. Spartan Ops missions rarely get over 1000 during the same period.
My only problem is the lack of Crawler Snipers & Knight Commanders in relation to the amount you need to get them to 100%

Team Objective is still consistently one of the least populated playlists. Would it be fair to those who do play it to remove it because people play other playlists more? I don’t think so.
Granted, people are playing Spartan Ops less and less because this is the, what, second time they are rerunning the first season? I imagine at this point, most of the people playing Spartan Ops are not doing so via Matchmaking, so that they can play what missions they want, therefore we don’t know exactly how many people are playing it outside of matchmaking.
Spartan Ops, was okay… I liked firefight better.
They’ve already made Spartan Ops. Why get rid of it now? Besides, some of us like it enough that we’ve been waiting for them to announce Season 2 already.
I love Spartan Ops.
… I just wish they weren’t so arrogant with what they were promising in comparison to the actual product.
Hey, 343i. Rehashes of the same map every week with new paths and taking several weeks just to release the second part of your season is NOT a new mission every week.
i think it’s a bunch of garbage to call something ‘season 1’ if you’re not going to do a ‘season 2’
I’d rather see more development priority go into the Campaign, but I wouldn’t mind a Season 2 (though it’ll be nowhere as interesting or worthwhile as the Campaign).

I’m almost done with Forunner Enemy. After that, it’s farewell spartan ops!
It doesn’t need to go, it just needs a quality upgrade. And a Season 2.
I agree, such a waste of resources when even FF was much more fun & dynamic. Next time for H5 bring back FF and focus more on MM.

It’s least populated right now because the Castle DLC has objectives and 12 players as well. People want to play on the new maps.
I think once the Castle DLC disappears (no, not anytime soon) Team Objective will rise a lot in population.
And in regards to the OP’s rant,
Spartan Ops has a low population now because IT’S OVER WITH. Spartan Ops now is just recycling older episodes. It’s not hard to figure this out.
The reason people don’t play spartan ops is because everyone has already finished the season. Just because people don’t play it doesn’t mean you have to remove it.
Spartan Ops needs to stay. It is just getting interesting and it’s improving. I’m wondering, what would happen if you guys think before writing? Your hate is ridiculous. If you don’t like SO then go play matchmaking or Campaign. If you don’t like either then (I’m sorry to say that but) you shouldn’t bought this game.
As a story junkie I like it, I pretty much play it most because you can’t get campaign xp, I don’t care about multiplayer, I play it but it doesn’t have any re-playability for me while spartan ops does
How much content did they cut just for the sake of fitting spartan ops on the disc, then turning around and making it DLC anyways?
Anyways, Spartan Ops has little to no replay value. And they’ve been re-running the same missions over and over again.
They need to up the difficulty and make some new and inventive missions.
But anyways, what are you talking about OP? Spartan Ops hasn’t received any attention from 343I recently.
