Spartan Ops narrative chronology.

The first episode says that it begins six months after the discovery of Requiem, and I’ve read others, including various game wikis, saying that this means six months after the events of Halo 4.

I’m a little confused as to the chronology of certain things however, and would appreciate clarification.

The “Didact’s Hand” seems to act as though Didact is still on Requiem, or that they are acting at his behest somehow. Did Didact survive his encounter with MC on the Composer? And if so, how did he get back to Requiem? Or are they simply, seeing Didact in a religious context, continuing to act on their beliefs even after his defeat? Or am I simply misunderstanding?

So far there has been no communication between Halsey and Palmer or Lasky about MC’s encounter with them on Requiem. Does this suggest everyone already knows about his travails, or that Halsey had contact with MC on Earth? Or are we just missing part of the story?

I love the story so far. Just trying to put it in its proper context. Thanks for answering in advance.

i thought that last night too about his right hand man. so yeah he must be back

It’s six months after the ending of Halo 4, stated in the first Episode:

NEW PHOENIX INCIDENT + SIX MONTHS

The New Phoenix Incident was the whole city of New Phoenix being blasted by the Composer when on the level “Midnight”.

“The Didact’s Hand” is just a name, like saying he was the favorite of the Didact or something, nothing important. Just a religious usage.

Requiem was first discovered by the humans during the events of Halo 4, so Spartan Ops takes place 6 months after both.

I’m pretty sure the Didact is still alive. That big swirling vortex that the Didact falls into is a slip space portal of some sort, not sure where it leads though.

they believe their god is immortal…

The didact fell into the composer he probably got turned into data the elites on requiem may be trying to revive him

> The didact fell into the composer he probably got turned into data the elites on requiem may be trying to revive him

He like chief is immune to the composer.

“Didact’s Hand” is what the storm elites call Jul 'Mdama. Watch Episode 3, that clears it up.

Edit: Basically Jul is the storm’s version of The Pope. He is believed to be the closest one in communication with their god(aka Didact).

I know that’s what they call him and I have watched all the episodes several times. It just seems as though they are working toward something inspired or directed by Didact.

Thanks to those who offered feasible explanations (him surviving and escaping through slipspace, them trying to resurrect him, etc.) Appreciated.

Honestly I have no clue what it could be. I don’t think it has anything to do with the Didact. I personally think it is something related to either the Librarian AI or Mendicant Bias(He always finds someway to stick himself into the story).

In the terminals it shows…

… that during the Forerunner/Flood war, the Didact tried using the Composer on himself, but that it had no effect.
