Spartan-Ops? Maybe not...

I know that there has been a lot of talk about Spartan Ops lately and in the end I think that we all know how it will turn out.

1)We will all play it and do it for the story mainly.

2)The story will probebly be good for the first couple of episodes then start to get stale…

3)There will be some story that you try to understand then you will undoubtedly (thank God for spell check) do the same thing either it be, “Holy crap someone is terrorizing this camp! Take them all out!” or “Go check out this dig site and take all these guys out!” or “Go activate this panel, but first you got to take these people out gaurding it.”

So what I am trying to say is that it most likly will be very predictable in what you do. It will be just like firefight except you will hit some button or save some person or just clear the area out.

I am not trying to be pessimistic (no way that would have been done with out spell check) but I just think that I know how this will turn out.

So I know that I can’t judge something that I haven’t played yet but I have been doing a lot of watching and reading on it and it seems that it will be repetitive. I just hope that for some of the episodes they make them stealthy or vehicle based or be able to take down some scarabs or promethian equal, and not just running in on foot and shooting up the place every time…

So if you guys have heard anything or can’t even believe I am saying this right now let me know. Also, I would like to know if anyone else was thinking about this and getting a little worried.

Oh, and for the record, I hope that I will be proven wrong when the game releases.

I’m going to play the hell out of it, solely because it is Halo and I am sure they will not get it wrong.

Ehh, I thought Halo 3’s campaign was stale, but I still played it anyway.

I’m exited for it.

> Ehh, I thought Halo 3’s campaign was stale, but I still played it anyway.

I liked it, I mean rampin onto a scarab with a mongoose to take it out! priceless… I think that Reack was very stale. Nothing seemed to come out and grab at you with awesomeness.

Same here. Oddly enough I found ODST to be a very interesting story line.

As far as Spartan-Ops goes… as long as it continues to flesh out the story with something meaningful, whether through the actual gameplay or the cutscenes preceding/following the gameplay, I’ll be happy with it. I love the lore.

We may eventually run into Chief. We will be in multiple different environments doing tasks. Sometimes we’ll have Marines. The enemy AI is setup so that you get a different encounter many times.

It’s literally campaign. I don’t think it’ll get boring.

I hope all you are right because it seems everyone is going to love it.

I doubt it.

Spartan Ops mission will be like a campaign mission. People are gonna spend time with sections instead of just racing to the finish skipping every enemy (like in the Reach campaign). There’s going to be favorite encounters and a whole lot of customization, hopefully.

Spartan Ops looks awesome.

So flying into space for the first time wasn’t awesome? Halo 3 started off good, but it kind of died down during the flood. Don’t worry, it ended good.

To add on to what everyone else has been saying, I believe I read somewhere that Spartan Ops will feature vehicle combat as well. Where you can get in a warthog with your buddies or some other vehicle to duke it out.

I was excited for it but then once I got to experience it well… lets just say when I replay the Reach campaign I don’t go straight to the space combat

I think Spartan-Ops is ground-breaking with an exciting new twist to the solo and/or multiplayer experience that introduces new episodes each week. It’s hard to see players getting bored. From what we’ve seen in the video of one of the missions, oh boy, I can’t wait!!!

Here’s your Killjoy medal.

In seriousness, considering all those custom Firefight games I played with my friends, I will play and replay Spartan Ops continuously until Halo 5. Especially if they add challenges for them and give us skulls to turn on.

I’m only worried about the netcode being crappy again.

I’ve thought about this, myself. The logistics of doing something like Spartan Ops properly are crazy. There’s just one thing that Frank O’Connor said in an interview one time that continues to fuel my hopes. He said that they were hoping to make Spartan Ops stand up not just as gameplay but as science fiction. That kind of noble goal is something I can get behind. I sorely hope Spartan Ops lives up to it. And doesn’t bankrupt 343, or turn out to be a completely hokey cheap component of the game.

I really hope thet they treat spartan ops as a TV show. With that I mean that they have a red line running through all the episodes and the end of the season ends with a cliffhanger or something.

It all starts out normal for a couple of missions but then we find out that we got a traitor inside command working with the bad elites or something, we now have to do things a little off the books to flush this person out but when we do we realise that it goes much deeper, some high ranking people are selling weapons and equipment to the elites in order to start a new war, da da daaaaaa(ties back to glasslands, end of season 1.

a very unoriginal plot but it would get the job done.

Same here. Im also a bit worried about replay value.

Yeah I have had this feeling about spartan ops, but I didn’t know what exactly that feeling was, and now I think I know what that feeling is – what you just mentioned. I totally see your point.

And also that spellcheck stuff made me luagh.

P.S: here is a thank.
