I look back at David Ellis’s tweet about Spartan Ops pre-launch and how the whole Season 1 project got better as time progressed and I never thought how RIGHT that tweet was.
The first episode was alright, 2nd and 3rd episodes were completely mediocre. The fourth episode was also alright and 5th episode was getting slightly above average in my book!
Now that I see the 2nd half of season one’s launch trailer, and IGNs NEW interview with David Ellis (features loads of episode 6 gameplay, HIGHLY recommend you watch), I can say that I’m excited where Spartan Ops is going and it seems like this could get pretty great!
Now all we need is some in-game scoring with medals and a survival mode based off the Spartan Ops maps…
I hope so as well, from what I saw from the video, and such earlier, I would say it is headed in the right direction. It will be nice to see if they pull off adding more development to Crimson squad through our own eyes. I tweeted him repeatedly myself about that subject because I thought it would be amazing to see, and others agreed showing the full squad in cutscenes atleast in-game would be pretty great for development and making you feel like you truly are there as if you were playing the Campaign all over again through your own characters eyes.
Giving the players more freedom to play their own way around the battlefield was another great direction and step to take, and it seems they have also taken the time to add more freedom and give us more chances to truly feel bad -Yoink-.
We as players want to feel like we are progressing the story together, not just like we are the fodder, and slaves to the UNSC and Majestic’s glory, or such. I am fine with Majestic and having so many characters involved in the story, that is how it is meant to be, but we as players, characters, should feel like what we accomplished is meaningful and benefits the whole stories progression, as we do in the main Campaigns in my opinion.
> It would seem the Halo community is hyping themselves up again Sigh people never learn.
I do not see anyone hyping themselves up, people just simply have hope that things will get better in general for Halo, you should stop being rude honestly.

> Yup, lets be boring people who end up offing ourselves from depression. sigh
I’d rather be cautiously skeptical than overly excited. While signs point to Spartan Ops improving, we don’t know for sure if it will pan out that way.

Yes, so I can finally have my Halo 4 Firefight! My soul could then rest.
Personally, an increase in maps (and a little more diversity between each mission) and the addition of an extra “Chapter” which only provides firefight-esque missions (with lightly random enemies if possible) would literally make Spartan Ops for me. I honestly think that if they did just that, they would make it perfect as both a bridge between H4 and 5 and a mode for people who miss good old firefight.
I think it’ll be a swing and score. I agree with the OP completely the company is learning and i love what this is looking like, that epic part where one of the players gets free from the energy shackles and assassinates the elite…so amazing! sure it could turn out sour but its free no ones losing anything, you don’t want to play? don’t no one is forcing you to. i think ill have a heck of a lot of fun playing this because im not going into it with a critical and judgmental attitude. And thank God for 343s amazing ability to listen and respond to the fans not many other companies can say they really interact with fans and change due to the feedback as well as 343. give them some slack and stop being impatient and wait…after all master chief had to wait 3 freaking years to just wake up. the least we can do is wait four months for a TU, the game isn’t as broken as COD so stop acting like it is.

I’m not being rude I’m just being straight out syndical to the point. People will over hype this and if that IGN article isn’t sufficient evidence of it being over hyped by saying “Halo 4: Spartan Ops Finally Fulfills its Potential” then I don’t know what is then.

Just because you’re a negative nancy doesn’t mean everyone has to be. Quite a few people actually like the Spartan Ops missions and will be coming back repeatedly when new episodes and/or seasons are released.
That shot of the gray map, got me so excited. It looks like that Halo 1/2 map desolation. I hope the map packs have maps like that. I can’t believe I’m actually excited about this spartan ops stuff.
