Spartan Ops is a disappointment

Personally i feel as though Spartan Ops is a major disappointment so far. Me and three of my buddies went on Heroic and we beat all the missions in 30 minutes, and there really wasn’t a whole lot of variety actually there wasn’t at all.Every episode was to just kill everyone. I have yet to play on legendary which I plan to do but to be no tension or sense of accomplishment after playing through on Heroic I don’t know if ill change my mind. What do you think?

What you on about? Clearing the LZ 5 times was so fun!

Oh… wait.

You do realise there will be more “episodes” soon and it will probably get better.

What did you expect it was going to be it just started and there are more episodes coming out eventually?

It just started. There’s more episodes to come.

I had fun.

Looking at the campaign, and the 5 Ops we already have, it will be “Press this button, Press that button, Destroy this, Clear the LZ.”

Not great gameplay tbh, but the story looks good.

thats excatly what i thought after i finished each level wow what a dissapointment.

firefight pisses on it from a great hight, im just glad i didnt buy that season pass before i tried the game

I know it just started ,but having a player do exactly the same thing for all five episodes and only change the location and the enemy from prometheans to covie? There is no excuse for it. They could have easily added at least one different type of mission instead of walk here kill about five guys then “Clear the LZ”

Not played it yet but im on mission 5 of the campaign and im already sick of “destroy the 3 generators” i mean seriously… its annoys me doing same thing all the time like that. Other halo games kept you moving in other wys than that!

Also how come the aliens can protect a door with 3 uber cores, but dont think to shield the enterace to the cores? most inteligent life forms my -Yoink-!

What I do like about it though, was doing it solo, being all alone and being referred to as a “squad” xD

Oh yeah your just that good man, how did you feel about it?

I enjoy it. It still beats firefight with a spiked baseball bat in my opinion. But I will say the replay value isn’t too high. I’d rather wait for new episodes than play the previous ones again.

Please cry more, whilst defending firefight which only told you to survive -.-

Personally, I got bored of firefight very quickly prefer the format which Spartan ops is presented in. Along with having a story it doesn’t feel as monotonous (to me) given the smaller chunks of action.

I like it a lot better than firefight. I haven’t played on anything but legendary though

I felt like a badass, especially on that mission when you race that other Spartan team. Haha.

Halo 4 hasn’t arrived for me yet but it’d seem 343 are continuing a trend seen in Reach, that is, alternating main enemies. Only instead of Brutes, it’s Prometheans.

In the campaign, I can only name one instance where Covies are seen working alongside the Prometheans. There may be more but most of the videos I’ve watched show separate occurrences. They’re still on the same team but they’re not fighting together.

The problem with this pattern is that it doesn’t drastically change how encounters play out. You just end up using up more ammo and either team can end up being a major hassle.

Halo 2 had Heretics and Sentinels but it didn’t reach the same effect since Sentinels are supplementary.

Future Spartan Ops missions ought to feature both teams at once. Of course, that does not mean balance should be thrown out the window (instead of beam rifle + binary rifle, mix the weapons up).

Spartan ops is the -Yoink-! I love love it and so does all my friends it is super fun.

I agree OP, Spartan OPs is no replacement for Firefight.
Story? Don’t make me laugh. I’d rather have the great customization and variety of FF than watch an overproduced hammy CG and then playing for ten minutes in static combat missions.

Don’t give me that “hurr it’s just the first season, buy the others and they’ll be great!” If I wanted to play through the campaign maps backwards I’d just turn my TV upside down or something. Spartan OPs adds nothing to the game, its more than likely just an excuse to milk users for DLC.

I didn’t really like it but then again I never really liked firefight either

So me and my buddies played through it again on Legendary this time around and it took us 36minutes to play through all the chapters. I’m not saying firefight should replace OPs but i don’t understand why we can’t have both. Next week we are hoping to see more variety in the missions instead of go here push a button kill 5 dudes and then CLEAR THE LZ
