Spartan Ops: Inclusion and the Conclusion

-Edit- I’ve cleaned up my thread a tad. Some things have changed.

Greetings all! I’m finally free of my cold and can finally talk about Spartan Ops without feeling like I’m thinking through a very thick mucusy fog! And now that S-Ops finally feels like a second campaign, I now want to actively talk about what is to come.

With epsiode 7 just finished, and 8 on the horizon, I’d like to discuss not only what is to come in less than a weeks time but ultimately how you think it will conclude.

So I will segment it off per-episode, and I encourage all of you to throw your two cents in on how each episode will pan out and how you think it will finish as well.

Episode 8: Just from the trailer alone we know Thorn and Glassman most likely meet their #1 fan: Gek. Halsey is abducted to Requiem to 'Jul.

It’s kind of neat, I was always curious if the Knights teleportation ability was capable of taking other people/items with them.

With the Halsey part, if that truly is the Librarian, how much do you want to bet the only people that are allowed to access to her would be ones with the proper Geas, something of which possibly only Halsey/John could do?

I figured the sphere repelled Jul because he wasn’t a Reclaimer, but I also think it wouldn’t allow just any Reclaimer in either. And Halsey is still probably driven by her Geas, in some way or another I would think.

And at the end we see Halsey royally tick 'Jul off, probably darting into the sphere, which could be a portal. If she does conclude that it really is a way to the Librarian.

Episode 9: Halsey and the Librarian chat it out if she does get to meet her in some way. I don’t see what/who else it could be.

And I’m worried Thorn might take a beating, I like him but it would make for a dramatic scene, Gek should be rip-roaring mad (even though he didn’t really show it in episode 7, I felt it should have ended with him roaring in complete anger of himself for killing his brothers and the fact he probably saved Glassman for detonating the vest).

So with that, I think Glassman will probably not fair too well, most likely dead, and Thorn really messed up after killing Gek, finally. And getting an E-Vac. And I am unsure if Halsey would be captured again by the UNSC. I would think that most SIV’s, especially Palmer would go out of their way to put a hole in Halsey’s head…

Which brings us to episode 10: Epicsauce levels will likely be well over 9000. With this being a bridge between H4-H5, it will likely be a massive cliffhanger and raise the stakes of survival well past what the Human-Covie war was at.

I’m thinking Halsey will be told that the future of humanity rests on John’s shoulders, but not only his but all of humanities as well and they have to rise up to face it. And I’m thinking Lasky and the HICOM wont see eye to eye and he may have to make some tough decisions.

I feel the Didact will likely show his ugly mutated mug at some point in the series, possibly at the end of episode 10. The flood will probably show up as well, possibly in episode 9 but I honestly have no clue in that. And wouldn’t it be horribly epic if the Didact came back allied with the precursor-flood?

I was always curious if the Precursors were going to come back, and I was thinking, maybe 343i decided to post-pone Silentium for S-Ops? They didn’t want any spoilers for their bridge to H5 maybe? I’m thinking this is could be the case, it not only would make a super epic story arc, but it would raise the stakes so high you would doubt humanity would be able to even have any hope to make it, and maybe even unify Humanity and the Sangheili again. It would open many, MANY doors for character development, especially for John and Thel.

And I’m also thinking the Didact would side with the Precursors anyway, as it stands he probably feels completely betrayed by all Forerunners. Prometheans had the lowest standings in the Forerunner empire and it seemed their Jobs were impossibly boring in some cases. I don’t think the Didact we saw knows of anything the Bornstellar-Didact knows when he finally faces the Primordial. And if the Didact actually meets something that resembles a Precursor that he might perceive it to be. Considering the Forerunners basically worshiped them, I don’t think it would be impossible to fore an alliance with the Didact. In some way.

Anyway! I’ve kind of got very veeeeeery speculative at the end, my apologies! I’m just all jazzed up now and can’t wait to finish Spartan Ops and read Silentium.

Please post, chat, speculate! I’d really love to hear all your theories on how S-ops will conclude, especially per episode. And I’d especially like to read what DeceptionCobra and Nihilus Shadow think for the episode/conclusion for the S-ops series, even if they make their own threads on the subject.

I also encourage you all to talk about the coming episodes here. I’m not trying to be an attention hog but I am seeing a lot of threads on the same subject, often spawning from one individual.

Thanks to anyone who managed to read this far, and happy foruming! And if you can think of a better title for this please tell me, for it was hard to think of something that is super concise and covers the coming episodes and ending.

I’m shaking from anticipation.

Where did you hear this was the last season of Spartan Ops? I thought it would keep going until H5.

You do know Glassman was the one to put the shield up right?

343i does not currently have plans for a season 2.

However, they did say a while ago if this season ends up doing really well, they’ll definetly consider it.

Finally someone who thinks like i do cant wait for these episodes and Silentium needs to hurry up and get here.

Prior to him leaving or before then? And no, I wasn’t aware of that.

The episode were he says he opened whatever it is and the shield appeared.

Ah,I wasn’t aware of that, I thought it was just the standard Forerunner ‘No aliens but reclaimers allowed’ deal. The sphere was there the entire time wasn’t it? Are you certain Glassman put it up himself or it just went up to keep out unwanted guests?

You notice how it wasn’t there before and then he starts backing away once all the elites think he unlocked it? He knew what he was doing.

Ah, I mustn’t have paid enough attention during the scene. I was at my height of being sick at that time.

But anyway, besides that, what’s your take on this? I’d like someone to post how they think Ops will end opening the plot for Halo 5. I’m thinking it’ll be a massive cliffhanger atleast.

I swear if Master Chief doesn’t show up… fanboyrage

YOU, are right! My bad, I guess it’s just been too long for me to recall the previous episodes clearly. Though I find it odd it didn’t have a shield prior to the meddling and all that for something that is this important.

One thing, I doubt the Didact would ally with the Precursors. He was trying to prevent humanity from ascending to the Mantle

“Your ascendence…may yet be prevented.”

He was going to await the Precursor’s return after composing Earth into Prometheans.

Well I honestly don’t think the librarian will be shown just because. It doesn’t seem right for her to appear for like 5 minutes or whatever because she is going to Tell Jul’s forces what he already knows and will not aid him in fighting humans. If anything she will probably be confused as to why they hate us and throw in something like Ancient humans saving them from the flood or something the elites really don’t want to know.

I really cannot see her appearing even more so with 343I saying they are looking at a season two. It’s (sadly) probably a portal to the greater Ark, Another place on requiem, Or back to Earth. I do not know.

They really said they’re looking at making a season 2? Hasn’t season one kind of fared badly to warrant a second season

I do love Spartan Ops, but the first half was a dismal failure in my eyes for gameplay, second half if awesome IMO. But I don’t see it as a replacement to Fire Fight at all. I don’t monitor the playlist population but I’d bet it’s fairly low after a few days of the episode being out.

And a five minute scene at the end of the episode would work IMO if it was the end of the series, especially for a cliffhanger for 5. It would either be a good way to add a new character to the game, maybe someone like Faber, but I don’t see it impossible of it being the Librarian.

But all of this would be getting real technical for the series, something people who have not read the books might not appreciate much and lose track of the plot.
