How can people complete Spartan Ops episode 5 chapter 2 in under 5 minutes, some even getting almost 3:30. That’s insane. No matter what we do we get stuck around 5:30. Is there seriously something I’m missing here? I’ve spent only a few hours sleeping since Sunday’s tournament start and I can’t keep up. All (hyperbole but mostly true) aussies and New Zealand players are quitting, so how the hell can I compete with no support in a co-op game mode.
Someone throw a dog a bone, and tell me, how can I remove a minute+ from Nothing Can Go Wrong so I can convince people to join in.
As far as I know, you get max XP payout at 10 minutes and I cannot confirm yet if beating 3 games within around the same time nets more XP than getting past the 10min mark.
If you do not kill all the enemies, which counts towards commendations unlocks and personal points while making approximately the same XP for doing so, I don’t see the point of trying this.
Progress in Spartan Ops missions is largely determined on the death of enemies. With 4 players who all know where the enemy Spawns are, you can cut through them very, very quickly.
The easy part is doing the mission in under 5 minutes. The hard part is doing it 24/7 like these guys are. I’m friends with a lot of the guys at the top and we were doing it 4:15 all last night. Add me and I can teach you leave me a message so I remember what the request is for. We always need backup people when people drop out.
I’d really like to thank The Wach for the offer. I’m about to go to sleep however, getting a few hours before jumping back on.
As for other people, a. manipulation is highly unlikely, as only games completed (as in not failed) count, and b. as an SR-130, XP is pointless, as a participator of the Infinity Challenge, amount of games played is everything.
And finally, as for Ultimate RC, I thank you for your response, but whilst that may be useful to many new to Spartan Ops, in my case you were just reminding me of one of the more obvious things to do with spartan ops. The problem is finding those perfect locations and angles. I have been trying to figure out how to reduce time further but have been struggling which has frustrated me, thus… this thread.
I was playing with some of the top guys and we get under 5 minutes most of the time. The under four minute matches some people are getting is throwing me. We tried everything and couldn’t shave anywhere close to a minute off our times. They must be getting headshots all the time, every time or something…
Single, I don’t see it… couple or more knowing the level I would almost say it is possible… personally I play worse on SPOPS MM with the lag… lol, had a host once to were I pressed my jet pack, I floated for awhile… no sounds, stopped then a few seconds later out of nowhere my jet pack goes off. So I stick to single, seems to not lag.

On the last part of the mission someone needs to be on the thing that activates the artifact. The other ones must be on the sphere to shoot it as soon as they can, this will cause that a wave of enemies won’t spawn. This could save you :40 or a minute.

Plasma pistol will do the trick. Pulse grenades may help.

The knights aren’t a problem since we melee almost all of them in the back while they spawn. It’s just the only way I see being able to go consistently under 4 minutes is to get headshots on the dogs every time you shoot at them - and never miss…
I played the night it started… You left me behind -- I finally figured it out however. Shoot the watchers as soon as they spawn. (use Assault Rifles, kills at least 2-3 in one clip) crawlers can be killed with the BR and killing multiple at a time is helpful. When knights spawn, (learn the knights spawns to do this) hit them in the back and have everyone on the team do this. Then when the rest of the crawlers/knights/watchers spawn. Use both Assault Rifles, BR’s and also melee for the knights. Right as soon as you get the last wave done. Have someone stay at the bottom to go to the "Activate_" sequence and hold X/RB and activate it so the bottom Foreunners don’t spawn. Have the rest of the team throw grenades at the ball (or have a teammate have a plasma pistol) to take it out immediately. Continue to take out all Forerunners, and you are done 3-5 minutes tops. Oh and Wach… Sorry for leaving but I’m always there to help :3
My only issue is that even with a mission time that fast it takes 2-3 minutes tfor a game to be set up.add that and your looking at 6 minutes per game in all.that’s 10 games an hour.this so called “tournament” has only been going on for 84 hours now.the most games played someone should be at is 840-850.yet the top players are well over 1000 games played.they have found a way to cheat the system and this flawed excuse of a tournament should be canceled immediately.besides that if these top ranked "players"are able to stay up 84 hours straight they would be dead by now.
I’m curious if 343 is even paying attention to or taking any action against the people who are obviously cheating in their “competition”.at this point ill be content playing battlefield3 and assassins creed 3 multiplayer.at least on those games you don’t have to deal with bs like this.just saying its impossible to rack up 1000+ games in just 84 hours,unless failing a mission counts as a game played

Surely, if they’re already in a party of 4, it doesn’t take 2-3 mins to set the game up…?
Just found out I’ve been playing the wrong mission lol. If anyone needs a fill-in or wants to start a group to beat Ep. 5 Chap. 2 quickly please send me a FR. I’ll be on from about 8PM EST tonight and most nights this week. I haven’t been playing this mission so it may take a game or two for me to figure out the correct optimal procedure but I was reading the earlier post and think I get the basics of what to do.
