Spartan Ops Halloween Special Idea

In the distant future, perhaps in Halo 4 or Halo 5, Spartan Ops should have a 2-4 week Halloween special where the flood returns and Crimson and Majestic must defeat them. They rediscover the flood in a forerunner facility similar to the Gas Mine from Halo 2 and they spread throughout several areas encountered earlier in the season, altering the environment drastically. They would be weak to Promethean weaponry. The flood returning would add another three-way battle scenario that was absent for most of Halo 4 (with the exception of the level Forerunner). The special would be treated as non-canon so thus it would not be referenced in future Halo games and Spartan Ops episodes.

I’d rather have canon re-introduction to the Flood than some silly Halloween special.

Don’t care about the specifics, I just want Floodfight. It’s been too long.

I’d prefer if the flood just came back. But yeah the changing area thing is a great idea. Also what if forge could control that too? (Flood infested maps)

Yeah. Kinda like in 343 guilty spark from Halo CE. Crimson get’s shot down in a swamp, and they’re radios dead, and it’s nothing but flood. And I want it to be like the flood could tackle you and you have to punch them like in that mission in campaign.

I agree, the flood deserve a canonical return rather than some spin-off series that may as well be called ‘The gravemind’s Requiem vacation’.

I agree with Cobra, and I always imagined Promethean weaponry would be effective against the Flood. I mean, Promethean weaponry can disintegrate people.

The great feeling that one gets when they sticky an infected elite, all the flood juices flying, great fun.

Hell yeah. 343 doing in-game special changes for prominent days of celebration/holidays might just make up for the lack of Bungie Day.

That location would be grand. Spartan Ops often had us running back and forth. It started to change with Episode 7. I want to replay a mission not a firefight map.

No, not just environments. We need to see more changes, like the presence of Spec Ops/Zealot Elites and Flood controlled vehicles. And Sentinels!! Check out this Custom Edition mod.

Yes, of course.

It’s not too late for the Covie-Promethean alliance to be broken. I had hoped they would have explored that possibility, especially since there was one scene in the E3 trailer (that was never used in Spartan Ops) which depicted a Didact-controlled Knight tossing an Elite.

I don’t really care, I just want something that plays like a Campaign mission.

There should be firefight esque encounters, but I don’t want it to be predominant. It’s what makes Spartan Ops so repetitive IMHO.

I enjoyed Episode 7 Chapter 1 the most since I could skip encounters and choose my own path. It felt just like Campaign. Hell, most levels featuring Apex have been pretty good. I liked how I could bring the Scorpion past the blockade instead of being forced out/it suddenly blowing up.

On Normal, Chief should put up more of a struggle while on Heroic/Legendary, he should have a tougher time (but do more badass moves).

Though I think a cutscene would be better, especially if we can skip cutscenes for once.
