Is anyone else experiencing other players in their games just not playing? About a third of my games now only 2-3 players of the 4 in the game participate. Usually the “free loader” gets a few kills then stops playing and his character just sits somewhere far from the action and doesn’t move the rest of the game. Is there a way for 343 to deny them points for not playing? This seems like the new boosting technique.
I just got out of Spartan Op’s with the same issue, we had extreme difficulty beating the level because this player wasn’t doing anything.
I usually only get 1 person because I play with my friend.
It’s not as bad as FF was in Reach, at least the AFKers in Halo 4 get a lot less points than those people actually playing.
I never experienced this issue. if i played with other 2 free loaders. Excellent! I get all of the kills, rank up my commendations and still get 7.1k of xp.

That depends, if they get 20 kills and AFK after that and if the game lasts like what at least 9 minutes… they get the same amount as the rest.

Anybody that sits out more than 25% of a game should get nothing.

I think it’s only 5/6 kills that’s all!
Quitting is the best solution. Don’t forget to report the player.
So far I’m seeing people getting 5-6 kills and then free loading the rest.
How do I report these players? I’m tired of this crap.

It’s not new. AFK was a problem in firefight just as it was a problem in Rainbow Six or any other game that has A. co-op and B. matchmaking support for co-op. My solution is to push the free-loader into combat as much as possible. It’s easier if you’ve got a couple friends helping out too, but even on your own you can have some great fun sending the -Yoink- to a grunty-death
I remember Reach having a problem at first but I think then it got some kind of AFK boot
I Just follow along and shoot whatever manages to escape the race of death. Most of you guys are running and hogging kills so what happens to the guys who are actually playing, but can’t get kills past 9 thanks to 3 johnny heroes and them carrying LAGZILLA ?
I rather have an afk than someone who does the complex glitch, as is what was popular the previous two chapters. Nothing like getting spawn trapped inside the glitch and unable to move because the entire team died except for the griefer and we keep spawning the entire time inside the building walls. Those that knew how to get out it took 2 minutes of their time, those that didnt quit.
They need to figure something out about freeloaders period… I was playing either CTF or Dominion, and half the team just stood there. Sure its great way to get points, but… you get more through kills and winning.
was playing with my friend, we got two people who were doing nothing but “freeloading” well we left since we were the only ones doing anything not sure if they even noticed xD i doubt they did

Standing on the edge of the battle and picking off strays is a solid tactic. I end up playing that way quite a bit. At least you and I are contributing. My problem is with the players who are intentionally avoiding the games’ objectives but still get points.
You are welcome to play with me anytime.

I failed the Spartan Miller mission twice back to back thanks to freeloaders leaving me by myself in 1 game and with 1 other player in the second.
What does “AFK” stand for?
> What does “AFK” stand for?
It stands for Away From Keyboard. The term is a holdover from PC and MMO gaming.
I’m aggravated at times by these punks who can’t even play the game for themselves. I don’t want to earn them a free 6K of XP for just shooting 10 grunts then hiding in a hole for the rest of the match.
