Spartan Ops for us lowly Silver Accounts?

feh, i’ll probably get a lot of flack for this, but I’m kinda sad that SOPS is Gold-only.

I know that you can use the XBL gold trial, but SOPS will be a continuous program, and it’s a hook, line, and sinker, kinda thing, I know that if I start playing, that I’ll want to know what happened, but I won’t know, because my XBL gold trial will have expired, and I don’t really have the money to buy XBL only for a feature on a single video game

at least in reach we had firefight, and I will say that SOPS is a good (if not technically expensive) replacement, it’s exclusive to Gold members only

I know that people have to make money off this (SOPS could be considered hundreds of mini-games) but, I just feel shut out because I don’t want to buy gold only for a single feature.

so, I thought of some solutions, some more viable than others:

  1. delayed release–Silver members get the missions a week or so late
  2. pay through spartan tokens–Purchase missions using the in-game token system
  3. make SOPS free (probably not gunna work)
  4. disable exp earning for silver members while playing SOPS

or a more likely thing would be that they could be unlocked by purchasing them as dlc (lol 108k unlock code…) for something like 1200 MSP for all of them or weekly for 200 MSP

Assuming you have a bank card to use for CC details, simply register for your free monthly trial of Gold membership on XBL. Cancel within 28 days, and it’s a free month. You can only do this once per account though, so a bit annoying if you want to stick with a single gamertag.

You’re welcome to my 2 week free trial if you want it mate, I’ve got months left on my XBL membership and have no need for it.

ages ago people would simply make new accounts every time for free XBL

This is what I absolutely hate.

Halo 4 the game, everything on the game should be available on the disc, no matter what.

Even multiplayer can be played offline, why spartan ops cant is beyond me.

But, I found a way around the gold pricing, and got 3 years for 50 bucks.

I heard that the Spartan Ops will be free DLCs. And you can play them solo, or with a friend on a local Xbox.

It says right on the Wiki that Spartan Ops Missions are Free DLCs. That has been confirmed.

Show us proof that you need XBL Gold to play Spartan Ops.

Even if this is/was the case, it’s still free compared to all other DLC. It’s free. Stop arguing that it’s not.

Simple solution, activate your 2 week trial on week 9, then play through all 10 weeks :smiley:

I;m not trying to be confrontational, but if you can show me a link to get the Spartan Ops pack, without XBL gold that would be appreciated

You people just…dont…get it. You dont need XBL Gold to play the missions solo. Or to download the DLCs.

It’s possible, considering how Xbox LIVE Gold members get access to certain game demos early.
