Spartan Ops for future Halo games?

Would you guys like to see Spartan ops return in the next installments of Halo, or would you rather have firefight return? Personally, I would only like to see ops return if they spent a large amount of time constructing the levels and creating unique mission objectives for our Spartans to complete. I wouldn’t mind having fewer missions in a season if it meant zero backtracking on maps we already visited.

If you want firefight to return, would you prefer the ODST version, or Reach’s?

Id take firefight over spartan ops any day.

Dont get me wrong, I liked it. The story was good but the gameplay was so repetitive it was unreal, go here, push a button, fight a few waves of enemies. Repeat. Im sure even the characters made a joke about it at one point.

The series was good as a whole though, cutscenes/story were awesome, the maps (even though they were re used alot) were really nice. It was just the gameplay that let it down slightly.

But I would ask you - quickmeme: the funniest page on the internet

Spartan Ops as long as they make big improvements.

Well its not like they could just leave the story the way it is right now could they.

They could if it was a setup for Halo 5. Pretty sure they said somewhere they were gonna make a season two though, cant remember the source so I might just be making that up aha.

Spartan Ops is definetely sticking around in the future. I have faith that they’ll make it better, especially with Halo 5.

Both is what I really would like. Firefight was a ton of fun, and lasted longer too.

As CkSned said, it could be the setup for Halo 5, with Halsey as the potential villain. Also, with Requiem destroyed, they would have to create maps from scratch.

Also, did anyone else feel that the cutscenes kinda made the Haloverse feel more, idk, childish? I mean, Majestic and Roland act like goofballs, while Palmer is a joke of a commander.

Firefight Limited. Please.

Wasn’t firefight basically the same thing ? just with no narrative/ story and you just do one thing kill all the bad guys? I didn’t play it much due to horrendous lag back then. I agree we could definitely have both especially if they improve on there mission creation program to make more unique missions and possibly include a system to allow normal players to make there own Spartan ops missions and upload it to file share where they get access to AI,game assets, more forge objects pallets, a possible full scale map creation system like far cry 3, and even some possibilities for recording and stuff through the MIC. Would be sweet this could also be adapted to firefight as well making forge maps to play it on. I’m sure that 343 could mimic firefight through Spartan ops I definitely got that firefighty feeling in a couple of missions where i was overwhelmed by enemies. All they need to do is constantly restart the rounds after the last Enemy dies and have a system of what gets dropped in after level 1-10 and onward stuff like that i guess.

I have to agree with you there

I’ll only accept Elite Ops. Or Grunt. Or Hunter. Or Knight.

Playing as a Spartan feels so generic… even if I am killing aliens, it’s stale playing as a severely underpowered soldier that always has to make up for his organization’s colossal incompetence.

Maybe we could play as elites in halo 5, or maybe we can visit sangelios as spartans

I’d like both tbh, they are both good game modes that the halo community has enjoyed playing and having both in a game gives the players a choice. I wouldn’t mind either individually either, but in my mind this would be the best way to go as it ends up with halo fans having the best of both worlds if they should wish it.

i prefer spartan ops
