Spartan ops - few understandable issues

Now don’t get me wrong, The whole Spartan Ops concept is very new to the whole gaming industry (the weekly content distribution)
However when I first started, it was a little slow-paced. Basic go here, shoot some bad guys, then activate this, shoot more and wait for evac. I was mildly content with that and soon realized after the 2nd episode that its a learning curve for everyone first getting into SpOps.

I have to say I’m very satisfied with the way Ep3 turned out because I thought the first two didn’t provide enough enemies and I got somewhat more than I asked for on the last two chapters… O_o And from the looks of it it’s only picking up from here so I have to say I’m really anticipating the next Episodes even more now.
But that’s not the main issue I’m getting at.

I know it might seem repetitive rehashing previously used levels and its understandable, I mean how much can you ask for when they’re making these by the week and for free? Using the multiplayer maps to me was a cool idea, so for me the ‘repetitive’ issue wasn’t one with me.

1 gripe I had with the first Vahalla/Two Giants level was that I felt like there wasn’t enough variety for weapons scattered on the map. Sure there’s the rockets, turrets, and whole stash of BRs next to the Pelican (I understand there’s Covie weapons around aswell) but I found myself running back and forth to the pelican just because I was only down to my rifle. What’s done is done though, it’s possible to finish so that’s all that matters.

At one point when they dropped reinforcements off at the cliff-side tower, I noticed the Covies around the middle of the map stopped shooting. I even ran up to each of them and they just stared at me, so I decided to assassinate them to put them outta their misery.

The most noticible thing was the banshees… They’d pester you and do their normal banshee thing until they got stuck on the towers. I’ve seen 4 banshees at once attempting to ‘fly right through it’ to no avail. The most hilarious thing was when I started chucking plasmas at them and every single one proceeded to ‘banshee flip’ themselves to death against the towers. I was lucky to survive the hail of banshee parts falling everywhere around me and only wish I could’ve recorded this.

Anyone else see any of these or similar shenanigans?

them using the MP maps mustve been the reasoning behind making so many BTB maps, normally a developer would make the maps based around the population and such but given how they needed more maps for spartan ops I guess it makes sense.

btw you guys think theyll clear up the abandon easter egg via spartan ops?

I enjoyed episode 3 but does the last level has a RVB Easter Egg? That’s been the theme for the past two episodes (Cauldron and Refuge)

The thing that got me was not being able to hi-jack the banshees on the complex remake, I ppd one and its just an empty banshee…

Yeah I’m really enjoying Spartan Ops so far, too.

And as for scene 4 of episode 3…

There were so many fracking hunters. They were being spawned in eights. It was near unbelievable.

I suppose that’s true, one thing I dislike about the majority of the maps they have is they appear to be built for BTB, and yet we only have a 4 map or so rotation for that playlist, and no -Yoink!- ing BTB objective PL yet!

But what’s this Abandon Easter egg you’re referring to? I think I’m gonna have to check YouTube out

As for the Hunters… Jumping Jesus on Ice Skates there were a hell of a lot of Hunters… That’s the only reason my commendation boosted so high already to expert. Otherwise I’ve seen few and none throughout the chapters and I have a feeling after this one we’re gonna have our hands full of every variety of enemies

I really like Spartan Ops and I’m ok with them reusing level sections over and over. I can get over that.

Only have one issue with Spartan Ops and thats when I try and find other players on matchmaking it quite often pairs me up with just 1 other person. I don’t want to play Spartan Ops with just 1 other person! I want at least 2 and preferably 3 other people to make a full 4 Spartan squad.

None of this 2 player party nonsense!

The Easter Egg is on Chapter 4 this time.

The box is on top of the first tree on the right side when you spawn.

I like Spartan Ops but one thing I dislike about it is no offline functionality. You can’t play splitscreen offline, and if you disconnect you may aswell start again because it doesn’t count the mission completion.

I know they probably did this to stop people from cheating for XP, but I think it’s pretty lame. They could have allowed people to play it offline for achievements without giving them XP.

I’m sure you’ve heard of the glitch where enemies just straight glitch out? It looked to me like they were underground with only their hand and gun sticking out, although I’ve heard they are actually just shrunken. It makes them VERY hard to kill…

I’ve noticed this too, I at least figured if that was their main case that they’d just turn off XP in SpOps altogether for offline play. I have my own way around this, I just connect the Internet through my phone. There’s no way I can play MM but at least I can play solo SpOps. No lag or anything so that has to mean that the maps are already installed; I don’t remember downloading anything before or after a new Ep came out

@DeadlyHeretic Yeah I’ve heard mention of this somewhere, but haven’t experienced it myself. Sometimes solo Legendary is brutal and I can only imagine what this would do to me haha
