So umm, did Requiem just implode? Where would SOPs take place now if it did?
No one knows, so go play some BTB till 343 deicides it’s done “investigating” on what to do with Spartan Ops.
Yeah it exploded into the sun…so yeah no more requiem.
Space Missions, now that would be awesome. Just like in Halo: Reach.
I’m very curious as to see where 343 will take Spartan Ops [if they decide to continue it]. They could always have a few Chapters or Episodes on the Infinity though. Since it’s so big, it could make for very many cool map environments.
I’d be so happy if we get to visit New Phoenix in Spartan Ops!
This is exciting honestly. Now atleast we know that there are new places in the future. Unless they decide that they should go to like the Composers facility off the 3rd ring, but I doubt that. Sanghellios anybody?
Anyone else surprised none of these maps are in public matchmaking?
I mean I saw a few good maps that weren’t even in War games at all.
That was a nice ending! And that music… great!
I really enjoyed the second half of Spartan Ops. You know I don´t really mind visiting the same maps, I just wasn´t really happy with the way the story was told in the first half of the season. I think they told a much better story on the second half and for that I am grateful to 343.
I hope they AT LEAST maintain the same level of story telling for the second season. Especially if they want us to pay for the second one…

I wondered about that too… I thought some maps could definately be used in MM.
I hope Spartan Ops doesn’t make a return as paid DLC. I would be stoked if they made a Spartan Ops movie, though. You know, just a super long CGI cutscene basically. That way we could have the interesting part (=story) of Spartan Ops without the boring stuff (=gameplay). I’d actually pay for that.
If 343i continued Spartan Ops, I don’t think it’d directly be a part of the main story. 343i planned for one season to bridge the gap between 4 and 5, so they can’t really expand further from that point.
But they could follow Crimson if they’re deployed elsewhere like new worlds, fight Insurrectionists and Covenant rebels. I don’t think we’ll be following Jul anymore, after he is likely low on resources and they need to save that for Chief.
My idea is, depending on where Kilo-5 leaves off, we could go to Venezia. Full of a new Insurrection and old Covies, it’d be an interesting story. Crimson is deployed here after their successes on Requiem. It would be a way to introduce Human enemies in a game, since some say a war against ONI or something like that will happen in the future. And there is a reason for Covenant enemies.
Maybe Spartan Ops will be more story-based…but it feels like Firefight.
That’d be nice.
Alternate reality, hopefully. I don’t want it back again poisoning this one.

Oh, and about Requiem. I was definitely not expecting the planet to get blown to hell so soon in Spartan Ops. I knew we wouldn’t spend the entire trilogy there, but I was kind of thinking that maybe there would be a mission in Halo 6 where you had to go back there or something. I’m kind of sad that Requiem is gone. I like the roof that you can see above the sky. On a Halo you can see the ring make a full circle, and on Requiem - a shield world - you can see the inner surface of the planet. I would’ve liked to see some more of it (and who knows, maybe we’ll visit a similar world in the future). But I have a feeling we’ll be setting foot on a Halo ring in Halo 5. And we should, the game is called Halo after all.
Edit: What the heck… looks like I accidentally quoted myself instead of editing my previous post. Oh, well…
Only scenarios I see working are:
Spartan Ops on Sangheilios.
Spartan Ops on Venezia.
In a way you can look at it like 343 have tied up the loose ends that Bungie had left.
The chief is back with the rest of Humanity
The Forunner planet at the end of Halo 3 has played its part.
What’s left is what 343 has done, now it can go anywhere really. I just hope 343 don’t go silly with it now and don’t make Halsey the big bad. Even though Oni tried to have her killed, she is still human and Oni is not the whole of Humanity.
If season 2 is going to cost I hope it will not be a requirement to understand the plot of Halo 5
